Remove the turn signal and fog/driving assemblies entirely with the disconnected wires hanging through the holes. From what I remember, I THINK you will need an "8mm" closed end wrench. You will need to drill a hole in the bumper cover behind the turn signal, perpendicular to the metal 5mph piece. It is clear what I am talking about when you see it. The 5mph piece is held in by 2 nuts and bolts. Unfortunately, if you just try to take off the nuts, both the nut and bolt turn, so you will need to get a wrench on the back of the bolt that is on the inside of the bumper cover. There is no other way to get to it without taking off the entire bumper cover...trust me!

So, drill a hole big enough to slip the closed end of a wrench in to. Take a piece of sticky tape and place it over the backside of the open part of the wrench. This is so that the bolt does not fall back in to the bumper cover area. The bolt head will probably stick to the tape (which is good) and you can pull the wrench and bolt out temporarily. You will need to get to the 2nd bolt and do the same thing. However, you need these nuts and bolts because this is what keeps the fog/driving light assembly attached to the bumper cover. Now pull the 5mph metal plate out and stick the nut back on the bolt and tighten, but not too tight, just nice and snug. Grab the other bolt and slip it in the wrench pressed against the tape and slip it back in the whole...thread on nut.

Put it all back together and just attach the new clear plastic lens to the fog/dring light assemblies after they are installed.

Simple huh?

I had an issue doing this to the GTS at first since the car was cherry and I had know idea whether the idea would work. Taking a drill to a fresh GTS bumper cover was a risk. At any rate, the turn signal assembly covers the hole and no one will ever know it is there. If you are "****" about the hole being open, go to Home Depot and get a plastic or metal hole plug in those specialty drawers they have in the bolt and screw section. No, I didn't do this..., just making a suggestion.

Now sit back and admire your new Euro look while you tilt some Deutschland pils!

I would like to get some of these but the delayed order thing has me a little bit worried. Why does none of the Big 3 have these for sale or even Jager Engineering? They are reliable and we know if we order something we will get it and... they respond to our email

I think I will place my order with 928 International.

I did finally get mine about 5 weeks after he said he mailed them (which was about another month after I ordered them, after I inquired about them by email and here in this thread). I'm not sure why shipping took so long, even with the slowest form of mail. The $30 charge for shipping two small pieces of plastic created a (false) expectation that they might be sent by air. The shipping label was a little odd. I could see the overseas customs stuff, but there appered to be another address in New York through which they travelled before being sent to me. I didn't bother to try to figure that out. Anyway, they are on the car looking good with just some amber 1157s. So, I would go ahead and order them but expect to send Joakim a reminder after a month or so and then wait patiently after that.

Default turnclear ok - slow but ok

I finally rec'd my lenses yesterday (06/23), ordered them on 5/10. Patience helps. They look Great! I didn't really like the clear bulbs, so I replaced them with the Amber 1157's. They look much better. The all-white was really making my other lights/lenses look too yellow/old, so the amber bulbs helped some. Attached are pics. I only included one "before" pic. If you want to see more before pics, here are a few: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-forum/158076-new-shark-owner-father-is-officially-hooked.html

I have the clear bumperettes, but haven't installed those yet. They're quite a bit more involved to replace. I'll tackle those another time.
What do you think? Better?
Enjoy...

No close-ups of the clears? Looks good in those pics, though.

I would like to order a set of the clear turns and side markers. I would not even mind waiting two or three months to get them. But, say it's going to be two or three months.

I kind of like the black bumperettes, it helps to separate the vertical lines in the drive/fog lights from the horizontal lines of the turn signals.

Jaquemond - pricey, but delivered 2 days after payment as promised. The indicators are not as clear as the turnclear signals, but still look fine. They appear to be made from the same material as the OEM markers and are slightly flexible - less prone to cracks? Side markers are clear as glass, more rigid and a complete b##stard to fit.

You pays your money and makes your choice - 3 months or 3 days, clear or not quite. IMO the indicators match my other lights better as they don't look too shiny and out of place. Might be a different kettle of fish with darker colours and newer lights etc.

Default closer pics

Randy,
Here are a few closer pics of the lenses. Hope this helps.

Bert makes a few good points about shipping time and 'clearness'. The turnclear lenses are very clear and these new lenses do make the fog lights look old. From a distance they look fine, but up close (as in these images), you can certainly tell which is new.

Bert - pricing on the Jaquemond corners and side markers? Do they also offer the US-spec side markers - front and rear?

Kelly - looks good, thanks.

Randy V,

As far as I know they only produce Euro spec side markers, not US style. Pricing seems to vary, I paid £89.00 ($160.00?) for the corners including shipping - comparable with Turnclear costs when shipping added.

Side markers were £50.00 ($90.00?) I considered these to be expensive considering how big they are and the amount of work involved to fit them, but i guess when you consider the work involved to produce them in small batches the price is fair.
