i have the same, feel the same way. When time permits, I'll cut 1.5 coils off my springs & raise my perches to accommodate. this will stiffen it up about 20% in front or so. Should be "nicer" then.

I actually felt the same way when I went with new Konis into my stock sport suspension springs. Too soft all around. Cranked the rebound damping all the way. Feels better but still will bottom at times when the original stock shocks did not. The compression damping is not too great on the Konis and is not adjustable.
I am not a racer, but by reading some books, I know that when you have a softer suspension, you get oversteer. If you have stiff suspension, you going tto get understeer. If the car, hypothetically, would not have any suspension, and would mount wheels to the frame, you would not be able to turn without understeer on the speeds more then 35 mph. From experience, controlling oversteer is easier and more enjoyable. So, I think that soft suspension(to a degree) is not that bad.

By too soft, do you mean the front nods on bumping roads? My GTS does this on standard springs and original Boge dampers (only 36 k miles) and I hope to eliminate it by switching to the bilstein / eibach package. Sounds like it might normal for a 928 - am I wrong?
My S4 seems much better.

Recently installed Koni Gas units in my S4 with stock linear springs ( coded 2 brown stripe front, 2 blue rear) - no nod, wallow, tendency to bottom ... the car communicates every pebble crossed with excellent dampening, and steers more as if on rails: no softness, but not harsh: now it rides much more like the nearly perfect Koni equipped 5-sp
With progressive springs, the idea is relative softness for normal driving, stiffening (progressively) as suspension loading increases. IIRC, most Eibachs sold w. Bilsteins are of this type.

actually, too soft or hard is not the major factor of over vs understeer. one can cause the other.
if you want to stiffen the front, cut one coil out of the front spring. can be done on the car, and doesnt change anything except ride hight .. use the adjustable purches to meet your previous hight. stiffens the front by about 100lbs
