REAL WORLD Goldmember TT Performance Figures
#16
My Callaway car was also a 13.6, but at 114 MPH. That car has more lag, but pulls harder up top. I expect it will be a much nicer ride when I install the K-26s and the new manifolds later this year. I never re-measured the performance after the upgrade I did last summer, I probably should. RWHP aftet the upgrade was 366 and torque was like 385 ft-lbs, both of these numbers were pulled off of a dyno-jet.

JOhn - I've posted buckets of results.
Don't know how valid G-Force meters are for comparison... awefully easy to cheat. Go pick a road that goes downhill and amaze everybody. Punch in the wrong vehicle weight and amaze everybody. Turn it on and off while already rolling forward and amaze everybody.
Can't cheat a DynoJet dyno like that. It is what it is.
Me, my G-Force numbers this morning.... I forgot to mention.... I was towing a boat..... uphill..... with a skier on it.

Now I'd better put my waders on.... My start was from a standstill, completely flat and no wind. Temp was about 60F or so. Goldmember is in full street trim, spare, jack, full interior, etc. I weigh in at about 160-165 wet.

I get a kick out of how some folks here post information, and others post information and then go on to tell the rest of us who the "Kings" are.........Well actually I don't get a kick out of it, I think it is arrogant and self agrandizing........neither of which I find appealing in a vendor......
Furthermore, It REALLY comes across as bravado when at the same time we read the laments on how money is being lost, sacrifices are being made, and everybody is the "smartest guy in the room". Maybe for some, it requires a prissy ego to drive the level of (forced induction) development seen in these cars.........
I think the whole schtick has gotten old.... I ADMIRE the work that has been done, and have said so, but think it would have more luster if the talking heads didn't cover the subject in bull**** all the time.....

Carl ... wasn't it you that jumped into this thread started by John? Why the direct opposition? The man made something cool, I enjoyed reading results, and he wasn't attacking anyone .....
#24
I didn't see the opposition. He posted their results were 'pretty similar'.

Come on Jim, here are two men who have a history of arguing. One posts some cool results on the product he has developed, and the other comes into the thread and says "here's the comparison between our products" ..... sounds like baiting to me.
#26
I didn't take it that way, but YMMV.
I also haven't followed the arguments much between the vendors because I feel embarrassed for them when they argue publicly.
IMHO dyno charts are the only real world type results though Tony's charts are pretty damn impressive.

You crazy guys
Sounds like a neener-neener-neener to me. Rather than do this, why not ask for runs documented by witnesses and a notary public?
If I were a vendor, I am certain that I would place more emphasis on making sales than trying to be right all of the time.
If you guys are so serious about making comparisons between yourselves why not get together and make it happen?
1/4 mile dragstrip and dyno equal distance from your two locations? Multiple runs to the extent that driver error is removed from the equation.
And leave witnesses to tell the story.
Maybe best to wait until a 5sp turbo is available so no disagreements on fudge factors.
I would certainly do it if my integrity were hanging in the balance.

it doesn't really matter anymore. Some people obviously like dyno charts, some like performance results. The vendors/sellers are going to do whatever they need to do to cater to their potential customer base. If you don't want to post performance times, that's fine... there is a group of people for you. If you don't get the highest dyno numbers, then that's fine too... you'll have a different set of people.
So, do you want a dyno queen or a road warrior?

I know there was talk of getting drag strip results once the spring arrived...but that was last spring. Maybe I missed them amongst all the arrogance and bravado. Or perhaps its covered in all that B.S. you refered too.

Problem free replication, reliability and affordability is more important to me than the specific one time performance of a science project. But that is just me.....
