No these are NOT wet they are fully dried and curred. The powder clear makes them look almost wet. We also are doing the intake and I will post pics when that is done.

Did you ever figure out a better way to strip the intake? I'm getting out my super-duper power washing this weekend to give it a try.

P.S. Those look GREAT!

So sweet looking, I wanted that from my powder coater but they did not have Black Chrome
So on Wednesday I will know if my chosen alternative will be acceptable or not
Sometimes I wish I lived in the US instead of Sweden...

Yeah we have figured out a better way to strip them so its all good now. Its still not "easy" but we can do it and are willing. I think these turned out very nice for 928 valve covers!

Peter sorry to hear that! Black Chrome is very tricky and a lot of powder guys will not do it. It seems to be very sensitive and you can ruin the job easily. We put 5 coats of powder on these and 2 coats of clear. This helped fill in many of the inperfections in the 928 valve covers.

I pressure washed my intake and half of the paint came off in big pieces.
Almost thought of not taking it in for sand blasting but in the end I did.
It came out great with an aluminum look insted of the almost black finnish hiding under the old paint.
So is sand blasting a bad thing to do?
I see no problem as long as you clean the sand out very carefully.
I also had the paint inside the intake removed but will not powder coat that.

Cheers/Peter

PHP Code:
We put 5 coats of powder on these and 2 coats of clearThis helped fill in many of the inperfections in the 928 valve covers
Did you paint the inside and the gasket surface as well in this cam covers and intake side covers.
Now when you mention all the layers done, and I take another look at the picture it looks absolutely perfect.
I will have three layers on my intake but it was in quite good shape after the blasting was done.
Perhaps the cam covers are worse to begin with?
I will do mine later, propably this autumn.
Hve to get the car back on the streets soon

Cheers/Peter

No we do not do the inside surfaces and we clean the gasket surfaces before sending them back out so they are ready to go on the car. 928 valve cover are always hidiously pitted hince all the coats on them. Even with all the coats they are not perfect. We are buying some metal filler for powder coating and are going to start using this to smooth up the 928 valve covers in the future.

What do you charge to do a set of vavle covers and the intake? And where are you located?

We are in Columbia SC

Price depends on what you want us to do. Options -

Strip Original Porsche coating from valve covers (you can do this or we can but it has to be done) $50.00
Do the same stripping to intake $50.00 (Includes polishing script!)
Smooth and fill pits in both covers $50.00
Powder Coat both valve covers: $35.00
Clear Coat both valve covers: $35.00
Powder coat Intake: $25.00
Clear coat Intake: $25.00

If you choose all the above option the valve covers would be factory perfect. However most people do not fill the pits and just have us coat overthem.

We can do ANY powder coat color made.
