Here is a camera phone pic of a 944 cam tower we just did as well. The clear was applied after we polished the letters.

What kind of metal filler would I need to use if I did that part? Is it a special process or easy to do/find?

Columbia coatings sells the metal filler, it is specific for powder coating. I do not know how hard or easy it is yet as we have not done it to date but I imagine its like everything else, A pain in the A**.

randy:

Is the pricing the same for an '85 that has the "multiple tube" intake as opposed to the single-unit S4?

Also, do you include the oil filler neck, too?

Yes we would include the filler neck. The pricing is the same as its about the same amount of coating and work.

So, it would be $160 to strip the intake and covers and then just powder coat them (including the filler neck)?

Yes, however we have never charged before but to continue doing this we have decided our time needs a little reward, do you think these are good/fair prices? It takes us about 6 hours to do a set of these correctly. Feedback VERY welcome friends!

Based on the photos as shown, at $160 per set, you aren't charging enough. I am well known as a bottom feeder, and would welcome the job done at that price, but I also think work like that should be rewarded. Maybe do like J Speake did and offer the $160 as an intro price, good until say, end of Sept(enough time for mine to get in and done), then bump it to about $200/set.
