crossmember
Save the torque wrench - they don't live too long doing tear down work. The assembly torques are in the WSM - I can check later: for now, the problem is a very tight bolt. Try to soak it in penetrating oil, and if you do not have an air compressor/impact wrench, a 1/2" drive power bar is needed. Get a piece of pipe to slide over the handle to use as a 'cheater'. Make sure the car is very well supported for you could pull it sideways off the jacks on a vertical bolt. When I did mine, the horizontal cross bolt was seized. It took a monster air wrench to loosen it, for full body weight hanging on a power bar was not enough.
I did my MMs this winter and removed all cross member bolts with a 1/2" Snap On impact air gun. By far the most difficult are the horizontal bolts which required counter holding the nut, then prying the bolt out with a drift.
If you don't have air can you rent a compressor and associated gun and sockets? As Garth wrote be very careful pulling very hard on bolts when the car is in the air supported by jack stands. Releaving the weight of the engine from the x-member will also assist; use a floor jack and a solid piece of timber under the oil pan. If not already done so consult the John Pirtle web site for full detailed instruction.

I had the same trouble with these particular bolts when I did my MM change. I started out using a 1/2" breaker bar and it wouldn't budge. I then used a 250 lb impact wrench, wouldn't budge. I finally gave up and went to Cummins tools (kind of like Harbor Freight...cheap tools) and bought a 450 lbs 1/2" impact for about $50. I then went to sears and bought the correct size impact socket that had a univeral joint pinned to it. Didn't take much with that setup
Good luck

Thanks guys, it worked. I bought a 550 lbs impact wrench at Lowes and taking the bolts off was a piece of cake. Garth, can you check the torque for the crossmember :-). I have problem find them in the manuals.

I couldn't find anything there either: The cross bolts are M12, so I recall setting a nominal 65 ft.lbs. Probably 150 less than when I found them ....
If the bolt has a 17MM head, the torque is 33 ft lbs. If it is 19MM, it is 62 ft lbs. That is the general rule. Also, look at this as a good reference on the procedure.
