Jim
All I know is a 4 second 60-100 is damm fast....I love doing little 60-80 bursts in my stock S4...hits the downshift to second...then redline shifts to third at about 80...

Try getting a $40 Gtech pro (the older model) use it just for instant G-force readings.... Typically I get about .31G during a 60-80 run....your car should do much much better...probably .7 or higher at that speed.

Tony, what kind of G-forces do you get during a 60-100 run?

What's nice about 60 to 100 is you can easily do it between on/off ramps.
I would guess around 8 seconds for 60 to 130. Hmm, the problem being you are into jail time with the 130 run.

Found one. This is one that corresponds to my best of 3 runs at the drag strip last month. My 1st time out with the car. Im heading out to "The Strip" again this friday. So ill have more numbers later. I guess being a drag strip i would consider it a pretty controlled environment....level..consistant launch surface etc

The video is on Andys site now i think?
Heres the link. You will see how i lost time in the first 60 ft

http://928supermodel.com/media/quart...qtr_13.3_1.mpg

I snagged this image below from a previous thread i had.
If your at 4 secs Jim that is pretty fast!

6.652 is what i come up with subtracting 0-60 from 0-100?

The image below is of the "G" readings from the chart above and of the video.
Ive got the LM-1 Data logging video in real time also, i need to get that to Mike so he can post it on Andys site as well.

I was only talking stock or minor upgrades. Adding a supercharger takes an entire turn in a different direction. A 928 with 400rwhp must be an awesome machine. You already have great torque in these engines and they must fly with the extra goodies attached. The single turbo cars pack quite a punch and I have gone up against cars producing considerably more Hp and dusted their doors

I have a Gtech meter and one day I will run some comparisons. I do know with a rolling 0-20 times of 2.1 seconds I was still reaching 100 in just under 10 seconds in the turbo. I will say that a modified C5 Z06 and new Viper are not an issue against the turbo.

Nice numbers Tony. It looks like your work has paid off.

Hmmm? That's too big a spread... Marks K's times posted below show a GT's between 60 & 100 mph to be 6. And there is no way a stock GT can touch your Shark.

Dang it, more experimenting needs to be done

I didnt see how those times were measured...
Although its an indicator, a stopwatch really doesnt cut it when it comes to timing this type of stuff. Your reaction times will be way off as odds are your "wound up" in the fact that you have your foot to the floor. Pushing the "start/stop" on you watch is way down on the list of things you may have to react to

I can get on the GTECH site an pull times from just about any car that people have tested and load the data...Ill dig up a few.

I love the 3.6T, and will be adding one to the stable one day! You have my 'Dream Team'

I had these files on my computer already.
The cars title is in the data block
03 Cobra = 4.343
911tt= 4.350
03 Zo6= 4.785
2002 M3= 7.527 ..... Since the 100mph data line is the last one on the M3 my guess he was letting up at the time...hence the longer 60-100 time.

You could be right. We were holding @ 60 and I hit the pedal when he told me to and then hit stop when he saw the digital hit 100. We aren't off by much but we could be off. We actually thought we were a bit faster than 4 seconds...
Time to buy a gtech.
No experimentig today, we are getting LA's rain

I highly recommend it. Totally different car than the 928. The 928 is a very classy and powerful car that allows you to relax and still drive fast. The 3.6T has such a sense of urgency and the power is like nothing else coming on in one big surge that all you can do is hold on and enjoy the ride, yet very civilized. I like the 928 because you can drive it under more conditions without feeling drained after long drives. The turbo carves up the twisties with such grace but you must familiarize yourself with the back end otherwise the bite is worse than a sharks. (no pun intended )

(OT) In either case they are 2 of the sexiest cars ever made. That is proven by the looks and advances I get from women that wouldn't give me the time of day otherwise.

I had the GTS out with my wife in the passenger seat and my son in the back I pulled to fill up with gas and the girl in the car next to me was flirting like crazy. That is until she saw my wife in the car. I have also had women expose themself to me while driving down the road in the turbo. Although the color has a lot to do with that.

You are doing a good job of making me doubt our 'system'
I hope I'm right

I bet your times are pretty close to those Jim, like I said a stop watch isnt the best but its good enough for an idea. Being a GT and its gearing, i bet your much quicker than an S4 like mine.
The nice thing about the GTECh is its consistant, which is what you need when comparing things, like we are here among other cars.. Its pretty acurate...I found +- 1/10th and 1 mph on my GTECH runs and the dragstips timeslip. Thats good enough for me by far!

Jim,

A GPS could give you very accurate data in both speed and time.
