Would if I could. Picture a 305 in a 72 Chevelle with straight exhaust, then picture it turning and you'll see my car. Sounds great at 4 grand under a bridge.

I did have a fun one the other day. I took one of our shop boys for his maiden flight in a supercharged 89'. It's only at about 420ish rwhp at the moment but still fun. I putted through town to let it get warmed up, then headed for the on ramp. I just happened to hit it behind a late model modded Vette' with numbers on the windshield and a dealer's plate. He looked at me in his mirrors, grinned and kicked it in the ***. He actually pulled me for about 2 seconds. I ran up his *** and backed off 3 times while still on the on ramp, then went around him as soon as we hit the highway. He was up to about 105mph and giving it everything it had, I went around him at about 125mph at 7#'s in 3rd gear (auto). The driver and passenger were both sitting there with their mouths open, I wonder if the car sold.......

BTW, actually scared the shop boy but he can't quit talking about it. (24yo. Honda driver)

A video of that would have been priceless!

O.K. I finaly have my first kill story. I was on the way home from a party on Saturday night and I was on the parkway. I pulled up next to a hot looking little sports car and all of the sudden the guy takes off and leaves me. I just kept cruising at the same speed I had been because I wasn't aware that we were ging to race. He drops back and we stay nose to nose and then we both drop it.
We go from about 60mph to about 110 in no time but had to back off for the toll booth. I was well ahead of him. I rolled my window down and we started driving slow next to one another and talking. He was telling me how that was his moms car but that he was about to buy a 944. I explained to him that my car was 21 years old and that if he really wanted a 944 that he should look for a turbo model. Thats when I asked him what type of car he was driving. It was an 05 MR2 Spyder. We both proceed through thye toll but he went through the E-pass lane so he made it through much faster. I look up after paying the toll and see him up ahead going slowly so I can catch up. So I floored it. We both ended up taking the same exit and went through the s turn on this exit going about 80mph. The posted speed was 20mph. My car started to slip a little around one of the turns but I ws able to correct it. We both stageed up next to each other at the light and chatted again. It was a really fun experience but I was stupid to race after drinking. I would have ended up under the jail. Any one know anything about these cars? I looked up the specs online today and they don't look that impressive. But it will always hold a special place in my heart because it was "my first".

flew in late from New York yesterday and came to a stop right next to a brand new '06 Corvette. Two guys in there reving the engine violently trying to get my attention. They where laughing victoriously as if there are no cars on the road to match up to their newly aquired ride.
It was 1:30 am and not a soul in sight on the road.
So when the light turned he let it rip. I figured, what the hell and got a good start with almost no wheel spin.
I backed off when I maxed out second gear and he was about four length behind me.
The driver looked stunned when he came to the next light and the passenger gave me an euphoric two thumbs up....
priceless...

Great Story!!! Made my day to read that account. Can't say just how many times I've wished to just witness an SC'd Shark smoke some newer supercar wanna be, especially when they are already celebrating before they even left the line!!

Sab,

Awesome story. The new Vettes are quick off the line, so that shows that our GTs are really flying now!

I must admit, he let the clutch out at high RPM's and probably messed up his start smoking his tires...

I've done a clutch job on on a couple 1st gen eclipses. It's easy, takes maybe 2.5 hourst tops.

Sab, a friend of mine was on a little drive late last night, on some ... shall we say unpatrolled freeways that stretch maybe a good 3 miles wth no cooties. Anyway, so he was driving, and entering the freeway his engine whine awoke the driver of the little Honda in the short tunnel. He saw the S2000 lurch forward and weave and thought what the heck ... so he wound 3rd up nicely, and let it breathe all the way to 6,000rpm, and he was stunned that the little bugger was able to stay ahead right up to about 110, at which point it was clear there was just a HUGE torque loss. So ... he mused ... what if ..... and so he goaded the little guy into a second and third stint, this time windiong it past top of third and into 4th (not his favourite playground) ... to find to his amazement that again, after 110, the S2000 was absolutely incapable of continuing whereas his 5spd 928 was fully capable and relaxed with revs climbing steadily all the way past 140, leaving the S2000 faaaaaaar behind. That elicited a furious thumbs up which was mutual. Anyway, I think a vette like the one you encountered would have eaten my S4 for breakfast. Nice job ps: There's nothing like seeing a little Honda with a clearly inferior chassis/suspension, squirm and almost lose it at 100 as he rounds a bend and crosses a seam in the freeway, the car unsettling terribly,. and the 928 just solidly screaming ahead behind poor little fishy, speedily closing the gap

You let this friend of yours drive your S4?

Course not, the fact that my insane friend drove in the story I pasted (hey it's all fictional, no real events anyway, just for entertainment) ... and then I posted below about my own car, those 2 are totally unrelated I would never break the posted speed limit.
