Damn, forgot: have a hood for sale too, earlier it appears as it does not have the larger heated washer squirters. i was about 1/3 of the way through stripping all the paint off to repaint it, but sold my car & how need to part with the hood. Appears nice & straight, corners are decent too. Just needs to be completely stripped & repainted. Local pickup only (Ausitn, Texas) as dont want the responsibily to pack & ship. $100 too high??

Default items for sale: cheap

Sorry Randy, prices are mostly irrelevant on one item set, so I forgot about that:
-Hood: $100? that's what I paid for it...though have about 3 hours of stripping in it now..
-Front chrome flat 16x7 wheels with polished caps: $300 too high?
-set of ugly 16x7 phone dials & tires: $.05 (no, not a type-o)
-radiator with barely visible crack at hose bib: $100? (great shape otherwise)
-'85 euro cat-back exhaust: not unmolested, but nice example: $50
-possibly two more 16x7 flats polished with polished caps & decent tires: $300
-set of flag mirrors complete, so/so condition I guess: meteor metallic $40
-set of 3" to dual 2.25" merge collectors: custom made, $60 for pair

Are the hoods the same regardless of the year (except for the washer nozzles)? For some reason I have a fiberglass hood on mine. It looks good (didn't even know it was not metal until I went to change the hood shocks) but i still think I might want to replace it with a real one.

I was under the impression that all OEM hoods were aluminum. -85-ish on up have the heated (slighly larger) squirters, this does not, so probably for earlier cars, but if you don't need heated squirters (dont we ALL need heated quirters?? , this would work after some TLC.

Yes, I think all stock hoods are aluminum. I know mine is not stock, even though it is a very good copy (even on the inside it's fully glassed and has correct looking reinforcements). I was asking if there's a difference in shape. Since the S4+ nose and fenders are slightly different than the earlier cars I thought there might be a difference in the hood too.

If there's no difference I can't figure out why anyone would go thru the trouble to make a fiberglass copy of a stock hood. It surely cost a lot more than $100 to make.

Agree: the stock hood only weighs about 18lbs or so...going carbon or glass seems like a wasted effort.

I'm interested in the hood, but I'm not in Austin right now. How close are you to downtown? Would you be able to drop it off for me at the Four Seasons?

Default hood drop off

Sure I could do that. I would probably need to find a box for it of some sort..not the kind of item to leave with the bellhop.

What's your time frame?

Mark I'd like the exhaust, any idea how much shipping to Seattle would be?
