RUF 928 ? Has there ever been one?

There are still more questions than answers when it comes to this car. Brakes and wheels are not period correct, so RUF bought a body, and sat on it for 10 years? I think realistically this is probably a conversion where RUF may have added some of their parts to a car, but that doesn't account for the A pillar vin tag. How about providing pics of the rest of the vin sticker in the door jamb as well as a pic of the VIN on the right side of the engine bay where the factory vin is stamped into the frame? Being secretive only comes across as sketchy. share the pics and shots of the paperwork from RUF. That will go a long way in establishing legitimacy. Personally I don't trust info just because it's on insta-twit-book.

Jeff,
Thank you for bringing this car to our attention and welcome to the Shark Tank! Hope you do not mind the bit of flack that was thrown up while you brought this thing through to landing. I have had to maintain a thick skin through a few of my discoveries.
Moving forward with documentation, we are hoping you can share the serial number and RUF (or the owner) will share RUF's build sheet. Quite a few of us would love to know more about the car and the modifications that RUF has done, plus the timeline.
Regards,
Dave

I remain skeptical about this car. In regards to this cars authenticity and its origins i’ll defer to the Gomez family’s (owners of Ruf NA) reputation and long standing relationship with Ruf. I can’t see how they would be dishonest about this car.

The "Shark Tank", that was a good laugh. I'll defintely strive to gather futher information on the vehicle & post it. Reason for being restrictive to a certain degree is just as some consideration of privacy for Ruf. I'll reach out soon to Ruf NA friends and see what they further tell me about it. Again thank you & if ever in Miami, I would love to give you a tour of Zweck.
I'm hoping to pick up a painting that I have had on loan in Florida for about fifteen years one of these days. I'll PM you if I can extend the trip further south!
Plus, I was checking in on the thread to see if there were any updates. This does have my interest!
Regards!

Jeff,
Per my PM, I have carved out some time to tour Zweck and possibly check out the RUF 928 as I'm heading to Florida.

Dave
For those of you that are following this thread, I hope to get photos and get the owners permission to respectfully share some details about this "RUF 928's' origins and the restoration.
Most collectors at this level keep things private. I've tried to be an exception...
