Lots of 928's had RUF wheels, steering wheels etc and the inly V8 they made was for a green 911 variant (the intake was reversed and could not fit the 928 engine.

If you look at their 80-Years Tribute video the only mention of the 928 (at 6:50 mins) was that they were going in the direction of the 911.

& Yes it does carry a Ruf Vin. I'll try to post more "pitchers".

I'm really interested by a picture of this car's VIN, then.
Thank you in advance.

why does that pic have US bumperettes? If it was a euro car it wouldn't have those.

Those are US Fogs/Driving Lights as well.
On The Euros the inside lights are clearer and not highly diffused like the US versions.

Either it's a fake or it has been US converted (together with that bumperette)
This is what the Euros look like:

correct. to install the US bumperettes, you need to remove the bumper cover, so the brackets can be installed on the bumpers. That's a pretty serious step and not required for importing.

The 928 was imported by Ruf themselves including a RTC & 992 GT3RS, too even consider it being fake.

It has some RUF parts on it, however 6 piston calipers didn't come out long after 1988. US side markers along with the front bumperettes indicate that it is a US not ROW car imported.

Never was it said to be a ROW car & from where it was imported from. Car arrived with Puerto Rico plate. Nor was it said when this car was built, but it defintely was built by Ruf. Car was picked up by Ruf employees and had been informed it was a 1 of 1. Happy Holidays

Ok, I play
So it's a black (L700) with burgundy interior (YZ) 1989 US automatic 928 S4 with:
Sunroof
Rear AC
seat heating left
no right seat memory
which was modified with Ruf parts.

But it never was build from a bare shell when new nor had a Ruf VIN.

Is this correct?

Thanks for the pictures and sharing

That pretty well sums it up. slapping a hood badge on it after adding calipers, rotors, wheels and a steering wheel, is not a RUF built car. It appears to be a nice 928 with some nice upgraded parts but that is as far as it goes.

will be interesting to learn what the full VIN is, but zooming in on this pic, it does appear to have a ROW VIN starting with WPO"ZZZ".

Specific Ruf VIN, then...
That is much more interesting but I would like to learn about the complete story
When was it modified, by who and why does it have a Ruf VIN instead of the original Porsche VIN?
