1990 GT?

1990 GT?
Can someone expert in ROW GT's have a look at this ad and offer an opinion on what this unit actually is? It's represented as a Japanese version GT, but I don't know diddly about GT's, never mind the ROW cars. Note the Euro-like side marker lights.
Is this a desirable car? Is it a real GT, as we know them? Care to venture a $$$ value? They are asking $28k US.
I'm in Canada, so I don't face the import prohibitions you Americans do, on the Jap-origin cars.

Well, it has the Japanese front fender flair/skirts. Any 5 speed after 89 and before 92 is by definition a GT. The photos are small but the car looks great, especially those pristine looking cherry sport seats. Ew, would I love to have those. Only flaw I can spot is a quite a bit of missing intake manifold paint, a bit odd for a low mile car (my 89 still has all of the paint at almost 140K miles - but I've seen peeling on lower mile cars).

It is a GT and looks great - if you reaaallllly like red interiors: mind you, $28K US will buy a lot of red cow - the interior is full leather ( note the stitching on the center consul) in great condition and it does have the (goofy) front flares that many Japanese 928s have - some have rear flares. My 'Tokyo' '88 S4 has neither - it has a GTS rear instead
A contact in Japan recently waved an ad before my eyes for a '91 GT. This car had 117KKm, looked reasonable ( except for the ...ahem ... red interior and front flares), and was priced at a 'buy it now' of $13K Cdn ( $10.5 US) with an opening bid of $6500 Cdn. We let that one go, as there are more ....[ I have a search on for a '89GT ] Importation fees are reasonable - IIRC, < $2000 will have you landed in New Westminster. Add a 6.1% tax on declared value, minor inspection fees and you are done. GST/PST and registration/tags are local expenses you pay on any domestic purchase, so do not enter the equation.
$28K US ( $34.5K Cdn) is a lot - especially for a 'ZZZ' car that is effectively unavailable to the US market, if resale is ever a concern. There may be a number of US GTs available for considerably less.

I believe others have posted that there are 89 and 90 manuals that are not GTs and therefore they are manual S-4s.

Bill wrote _after_ '89. And no, '90 manuals are GTs. '90 autos are S4s.
'89 is the only year where a GT and an S4 with manual was offered.
