Ok, I'm back from a whirl wind business trip through Utah, Nevada, Arizona and California. I have the information on the Lake Tahoe Shark gathering.
We have nailed down the weekend of June 17th - 19th. We will have a hosted hospitality suite in the motel open on Friday afternoon / evening for welcoming our guests to Tahoe. After the Saturday drive we will open the hospitality suite again for a hosted light lunch / munchies / and drinks. On Saturday night we will all meet up at the Tahoe Biltmore Hotel & Casino for a sit down dinner in a banquet room.
We have chosen a motel 1/2 block away from the Casino's for our host lodging facility. If any one would like to book rooms with a lake view at the Cal-Neva Casino Hotel (800 CALNEVA) and let me know ASAP. They will run about $60 per night MORE than our Host Hotel.
The Tahoe Inn is a mid level motel and has allowed us to block 20+ rooms for our event. The motel does have a pool and is within 1 blk of the 4 Casinos so if your wife / SO does not want to go on the drive there will be plenty to do. The rates on the Tahoe Inn start at $99 for a standard and increases to $139 for a family unit. The motel will give up a 10% discount for AAA, AARP, etc. If you don't have any of these we will press them to give it to you anyway. The telephone # is 800 648-2324 and the web site is www.tahoeinn-laketahoe.com. Please mention you are with Sharks at the Lake, Porsche 928 Club. MAKE YOUR RESERVATIONS NOW!!!
We have rented a private room at the Biltmore Hotel for our Saturday night dinner. The menu we have chosen is below. This is the area that gets a little sticky since we must guarantee a minimum of 20 dinner seats. I love you all but I would rather not get stuck with a minimum of $800 for no shows. All RSVP's will need to send a check to me no later than April 30, 2005
Plated Dinner Package $39 Banquet Menu includes Tax & Gratuity
Includes Salad, Entrée, Dessert ( 20 Person Minimum)
Salad
Zesty Caesar Salad
Crisp Romaine Lettuce, Fresh Baked Croutons, And Parmesan Cheese Tossed In Our Zesty Caesar Dressing
Choice of
Fresh Pacific Salmon
Mesquite Grilled And Topped With A Fruit Salsa. Accompanied By Sautéed Seasonal Vegetables And Wild Rice Pilaf
Shrimp Pasta
Sauteed Colossal Shrimp With Garlic Butter, Olive Oil And Wine, Served Over Angel Hair Pasta
Rib Eye Steak
Herb Marinated, Served With Smoked Shallots And A Tasty Cabernet Sauce. Served With Mashed Sweet Potatoes And Mixed Vegetables
Dessert
Tiramisu
Sponge Cake And Lady Fingers, Mascarpone Cheese In An Espresso Cream Marsala Mixture And Grated Chocolate.
If you want to attend Sharks at the Lake in June please post your intention (to stimulate interest) and email me your name and if you will have a guest or not. The rooms WILL fill up and be lost to us within the next 2 weeks. Post your questions and I will try to answer them. Tahoe at that time of year will be beautiful and I guarantee you will have a great time. I will post more about the drive and other things to do later.
Nicole ( Hooked on Cars) has offered to provide a few give aways for us and if anyone else can help us out in that area I would certainly appreciate it. A local business has agreed to provide the Friday evening host suite and refreshments as well as the Sat light lunch and refreshments.
Please let me know your attendance ASAP

At this time I plan to be there - but there is a slight chance I'll be in Germany at the time. I won't know for sure until early May. So, at this time count me in.
I will provide some goodies either way.

The wife and I are IN!
UPDATE--4/4/05 We are OUT. I spent to much time on the SC project, and with SITP and Carlsen on 5/7 I just can't get away with it.

Tim:
You got quite a few responses from an earlier message. You just reposted this. It is not stuck to the top - you may ask Randy to stick it for a week or two. Also, I have not put out any word via my email list of 100 or so locals. You have not posted it on the SoCal message board yet. Honestly, if you get the word out more widely I think you will be overwhelmed.

Count me in for two (one 928)! I might be able to talk my friend into attending as well! I agree with bill, the email lists will attract many more sharks (kinda like blood in the water!) Tahoe is beautiful in spring, its a great idea! I would be surprised if there was less than 25 sharks present!
