That's it, next time I hit triple digits I'm keepin my mouth shut.

Steve

P.S. Ya think two drafting 928s could hit 175? Just a thought.

Ok, I've got two lined up. Any takers for third position?

Too hot. At those speeds our cars are barely getting enough to cool the fast-flowing fluids, I know drafting overheats, I've been there .....

fabric - ahhh, you mean the "pucker factor"! I once took a 928 owener for a 200 plus mph ride ... then found out he had a pacemaker. He didnt need that day.

Actually, if you are not aware whatis happening, 200 mph in our 928 was just a smooth constant acceleration run .. very comfortable. If you were sleeping, it would not wake you up!

Dayam Steve!

Just got back from some of my own high speed hijinx in Fontana and they still don't get it!! Count me in as a third, unless I was who you were counting on as #2 Nothing like a little Dawn Patrol run on our way to breakfast some morning. I'm sure no coffee will be necessary after that run!

I was actually referring to your claim that the 928 is the fastest car that can seat 4 "comfortably." Different pucker factor.

Based on my simply getting up to 115, I believe it. I might as well have been going 60, it didn't feel any different.

I agree the 928 is the fastest car (not truck) that can carry 4 passengers comfortably. As long as none of them is over 6ft tall.

Actually, it's not.. You can get to 199 mph in a stock Ferrari 456, and 612. Marc T's car is a highly modified car (in current form) even though registered on the street. Granted, it went 199 mph in street clothing before being stripped out to race trim...(I could be wrong, but I believe I read this in an article many years ago, and saw pics in the Devek shop of the same article.)

The Brabus EV12 in Sedan and Wagon goes 200mph. The Kleemann E55K and E55T K version goes 338 Kph or 211 Mph..

The New Maserati Q Porte goes 171, The New Bentley Flying Spur goes 198... It was just being tested in South Africa... These are all larger than the 928, but can carry 4 people and their luggage without being a stripped out racer...

I admire, and like the Devek car, but 928's are a bit behind the curve now... Highly modified, they can place well, but fitting Pygmies in back does not really count as 2 full size average adults... Last I checked, not too many average sized humans were pygmy size..

Oh, that 338 kmh was and I believe still is a record for a 4 door sedan on street tires... With a full factory warranty...

To take 4 people in comfort, I'd rather go in any of the sedans I mentioned...

I still love my 928 though...

Cheers,

What a disappointment.

Personally, I don't feel comfortable in the back of either a 928 or a 911 and pray every minute I have ever been in such a situation that the drive will end soon. And I am 6' tall. Scares me for sure at any speed to sit back there. I would rather use that area for lockable storage and hope someone will market a kit to convert it to such use soon.

I've seen a few people make custom boxes back there, but it would be nice if one of the vendors would come up with a nice, removable storage unit, to take the place of the rear seats...
