Murf928 SuperShark Stage One Supercharger kit (and 85-86MY) status

That's a good idea, Seth.
I also have a list of references if you want them. Good to talk to 928 owners who have installed the SC kit and drive it and hear frist-hand what they have to say.
I just need your direct email address and I can send that list over to you if you want.

Tim - if the weather stays clear, I'm bringing the 81 home tomorrow. Let me know if you need to see anything before I start ripping the heads off.

Have you decided which event you're going to attend at Road America in April?

I'm not sure about RA yet - I want to run with all the 928's, at the same time Joel and I have a little rivalry going (his 170hp advantage makes it a bit one sided at the moment).

Sounds like a plan. The exact date and location of my install is not set yet. Sometime in March.

Update:
The 85 car turned out to have many issues so I had to pass on it. Thank you to my fellow Rennlister who took the time to check it out for me.
Fuel injectors:
I have been getting questions regarding fuel injectors and what measures I take to properly fuel the car. So here is my best synopsis with respect to my experience:
A few years ago I was researching fuel injector types because I had the intention to run very high fuel pressure under boost, 100+ psi. The “experts” I consulted said those pressures would never work but little did they know I was already doing it. I believe that the key factor with the injectors working at the high fuel pressure is that they are 100% on and I am not trying to cycle them while under high pressure. I have run these pressures with both types of injectors (pintle and disc type) and they seem to work just fine.
How it works is very simple; I install an FMU (Fuel Management Unit) in the return line of the fuel system. The FMU has a manifold pressure line attached to it that is communicated to the dome of the FMU. Inside the dome is a flat disc with a rubber membrane over it and as the pressure in the dome increases the return of the fuel is restricted thus increasing the fuel pressure in proportion to manifold pressure.
Since the injectors are at 100% duty cycle the only way to increase the fuel flow is to increase the pressure. In other words, the boost rises with RPM so as the engine goes up in revs the fuel pressure rises in proportion and fuels the engine.
Again, it is all in the recipe of the system to get it to work. The right size injector, the right starting fuel pressure, and finally the correct disc in the FMU to get the proper rate of rise with respect to boost. It's not very glamorous but it works.
The method I use to fuel the car under boost is the same that Vortech and other centrifugal companies have been using for a very long time. Once you have the recipe it is a very repeatable solution.
Anyway, I hope that makes some sense.

Tim, What do you need to make this happen? Do you have some spare time in April? I can drive my car over and work through it with you if need be.
