Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely, President's Day SUPERMODEL Dyno, JR's for BBQ

Former Vendor
Well, I have a lust for a supercharger to add on to my recently acquired 80 928 Euro (16V). I'm already planning to dump a bunch of money into it, not because the car will ever be worth what I'll spend on it, but because I want to...upgraded brakes, upgraded suspension, upgraded exhaust, new paint...already talking ~$15K, not including standard/preventive maintenance. You know you're a Porsche junkie when...
It would be great to have an entry level system (maybe in the $4K range) with the ability to "bolt on" extras like an intercooler and better fuel delivery at a later time. A "modular" approach would be perfect for my situation...I can probably come up with $3-4K at a time, but coming up with (and justifying to the wife) $8K in one shot is a little tougher...my $.02

Andy,
Very nice indeed!
So for anybody who is just tuning in, you can start out with this system relatively cheap at a 450 chp mark. In the mid $3k range, then add on some items to get up to 500+ chp.
BTW, andy what do you charge to:
1) take a used Eaton blower and cut the bracket off
2) Powder coat the supercharger parts package (applicable parts only).

Thanks Warren.
Someone could start at $3495 and get around 385 chp with cats maybe 400 w/o cats.
They could later spend $250 for 85-86, or $550 for S4 get close to 450 with 93 octane or about 405 on 91.
They could add an intercooler and get up to 500chp for $1035.
Now if they had their own Jag/Eaton M112 then they could subtract $650 from the totals of the above. I bought one once for $202.00 off e-bay and between my car and Mike's car it's had 20K miles put on it and it's still doing fine.
So if you were real lucky you you could get started for $3045.
• Powder Coating of parts groupo: You may add Gloss Red, or Gloss, Wrinkle or Flat Black Powder Coat for $125.00. Most other colors available for $250.00
• The bracket on top of the supercharger is not necessary and can be machined off at a charge of$100.00
I have one on e-bay now with a new SC at the re-built price plus about $60 to pay e-bay. CLICK HERE
I'll put one up without the SC if someone requests it.

Ideola,
With all the recent interest I am getting it won't be long til I have a prototype running.
Abby,
Soon may we be saying "Abbysolute Power" or "Absolute Power corrupts Abbysolutely" or "Abbysolute Power corrupts George into getting a 928"?
Iceman,
Adding 100hp subtracts 1sec from 1/4th mi times. My best bone stock time was 14.7sec corrected from 15.320 for 2700 ft altitude. Since I have added 186hp I should have a time that is 1.86 sec quicker, or 12.84 sec. From experience though I know that since I have so much area under the curve that I will excede the rule of 100hp = -1sec. At best with this setup I will run 12.4x sec and at worst I will run 12.7x sec at about 110mph. And we will find out on this Friday night.

I went ahead and put a system on e-bay without a SC. $2895.00 complete except for the SC. Provide your own SC. I have bought them used for as little as $202.00 and new for as little as $500.00. Soo you could do a 4psi system for as little as $3095 if you're lucky enough to find a low priced SC. Click here for the link.

Tony,
Yes I am planning on going Friday night. Hopefully I'll have my 265/45/16 BFG drag radials by then. I'll be running the Jag/Eaton M112 Stage 3 intercooled system at 8.5 psi, same as the 402rwhp dyno above. I have 1 smaller pulley size for it though so I may switch. then it would pprobably be just over 9 at around 411rwhp.

With 9 psi and drag radials, you should drop well into the low 12's. "when" I can get my car to hook up (it is not easy) my nearly stock 88 S4 auto ran a 14.5 at 101.8....I think with a little better traction it could drop slightly below that..maybe 14.2-3 or so? I look forward to fridays post from both you and tony!

Andy,
It sounds like this SC kit is getting closer to a reality. I was going to hold off on doing this
SC to my 86 until I picked up an S4 or GTS, but at this price I might have both sharks boosted!
The one part Andy does not sell to get the dyno'd horsepower numbers is the X-pipe. Does anybody have a price range on the X-pipe?
