Apologies for the hi-jack.

Jim G,

That's an amazing avatar. <MORE>, please.

When, where, how old was the eagle, any more pix of the next few seconds or minutes?

While the new trim pieces are black plastic, the ones that fade are aluminum. Getting those pieces out can be tricky, and bend them. Once they are bent, it's extremely hard to get them straight again.

Another nice side effect is that the plastic foil is more scratch resistant than paint. And if it gets damaged, you can just replace the foil - it's a taime saver.

So, if you are going for concours, get those pieces out, have them powder coated or whatever, and use Chuck's trick to put them back on. But if you just want them to look better without having to invest a lot of time or money, Jager's offer is pretty good.

I use the lock overlays and really like them.

BTW: THe heat is needed to soften the foil and make it conform to the exact shape of the trim, and stick well to it. The same is true for anything you stick on - including the side moldings, in case you ever have to reglue them with trim tape.

Nicole, this is why we really want a display of Jager products at the Sharks in the Hood Event. I love thier products I also believe more people would love to see them up close and the many fantastic applications that Jager has for our cars.

I sent an e-mail directly to Paul but I got no response.

I, too, am working on getting him to come. We'll see... Either way, I'll bring my own car as an example, and some of the other items for display and sale.

Hey Fogey 1. Unfortunantly I am not responsible for the pic. I got it, along with some other misc pics in an e-mail foreward from a friend. I thought the pic would make an interesting avatar so I stole it. I wish I knew the outcome of the encounter.

Just FYI, the later trim is plastic with metal corners. Neither paint nor tape is the right finish, so I don't have a preference.
