I gave up looking for them used and just bought one from 928 International.

I bought one also...they're not cheap but worth the alternative, I feel. Under $60 if I remember right. I know, it hurts to pay this much for a piece of plastic but it looks good once installed.

Thad and others - I was looking for the same thing a few months ago, but basically had to go out and buy one as no one had a good used one. They are quite flimsy - I can see how they won't stand up for any long period of time.

The number is: 928 574 157 00 and it was $74 from 928Intl.

74 bucks is pretty good, considering that the Porsche dealer wanted like 450. I almost cacked on the spot when the parts guy told me...

Be aware that Porsche has superseded all previous versions of the Cowl cover to the later style. On earlier cars you will need to do some simple trimming (mainly in length via a straight cut).
As stated the Part # is 928.574.157.00 , we sell them for $65.95 and usually have them in stock. IF not we have them in 1 business day.

$66 and they're not plug and play? Can I ask what years need to be trimmed?

>Can I ask what years need to be trimmed?

77-82 need to be shorted to match the exact style of the original. You probably could do some other simple trimming around the wiper mechanicals to make it go all the way across.

S4/GT will need to cut out the opening for the intensive washer reservoir, BUT the area is "embossed" and it is obvious where the cut-out is.

While it is a little aggravating that Porsche superseded all of the Cowl covers to the GTS version, at least we can still get one... at the moment.

I got one from Jim Bailey and as soon as I installed it the #$@&#$@% thing self destructed. Not Jim's fault. I must have omitted something, because at the trailing edge that butts against the windshield edge of the body just abve the wiper arm pivot, the plastic dropped down into the path of the wipers ans was chewed up by them. It seems the part will snap up against the body panel but won't remain there for long and droops. I gave up and just live with it. I would certainly welcome any suggestions, because it drives me up the wall looking at it cracked and with a gaping hole in it.

Ron,
The next time you install one look carefully under the body edge when it "tucks under" . There are 2-3 (depending on year) approx. 3/8" wide metal tabs under there that support that edge from dropping onto the wiper mechanicals. Make sure you get that edge tucked "into" those tabs and not under them and it will be fine .

Correct. My new shroud is still in perfect condition. The old one was destroyed by the wiper arm some time during it's life with a previous owner.
