Just to put it into perspective... that's nearly double stock HP!

These cars are lucky to be pushing out 220CHP when stock so 400 with no other mods other than the TT setup is amazing. John, did you dyno this one? Or was that the Callaway unit your put on the dyno?

To manage 600 CHP, one would have to have a substantially more complex EMS. Specifically a boost sensitive computer that could retard ignition and some camshafts with more duration at least. For us non-DME having types, forced air must be approached cautiously. Now, if you've got the $$$ on the other hand, custom billet cams, MOTEC control, and John's system would combine for a very impressive package by any measure. That's not to say that it isn't already, just that it would likely be more of a good thing. More than this, Peak HP is not the goal, area under the cuve is. I would love to see just how big that is when John finally gets some empiracle evidence (Dyno Sheet) to verify his endeavor.

I would like to see dyno sheets for this car...but an 81% improvement in hp is quite good! Hmm so an S4 TT would be 571hp by the same estimates...which is about what SC cars are doing at 10 psi..I bet the dyno curve will peak out at about 420 crank hp or about 340 at the wheels

I don't buy it somehow. Let's see some photos and dyno sheets.

Interesting that John has no problems posting photos of the turbo setup (previous topics)...

No, Goldmember has not been to the dyno just yet. I know the Callaway made 360+/- HP on 8 lbs of boost and about 420-430 HP on 12 psig. I expect this car is 330 +/- RW with a boatload of torque. Honestly, I am tired of tinkering with it. It is for sale as of now and I am seriously considering something more responsive as an entire driving package...like a 914-6 as a replacement.

I have more plans for the Callaway...a set of K-26 turbos and my new manifolds along with Euro camshafts to make it more responsive mid range and pull harder up on top. I think it will surpass 400 RW, but the actual number doesn't matter that much to me. I have other reasons for adding my own setup as well.

The goal is in building a powerful fun 928, which both of them really are now. BTW...The Goldmember will beat the Callaway 0-60 and the Callaway is a 5-speed. It is all in the intended purpose of the car...Callaway used a huge turbine with a big orifice, so lower end response isn't as good as the Goldmember...but I'm sure Goldmember is running more back pressure as a result of the smaller turbines. It is all a judgement call. On the top end the Callaway will outrun the Goldmember, like over 130-140 MPH...but how often do you drive there?

More pictures of the car (pre-turbo) are on the 928 specialists site on the 'restorations' page:
https://www.928gt.com/t-resto.aspx
midway down the page (gold 1980).

As I suspected - pics of the engine only.

This one must be a real dog.

Randy - Have you not had your afternoon bloody mary? Me thinks John(...) is in fully coiled attack mode on this one.
