NICK STOP ASKING DIFFICULT QUESTIONS! Ask somebody who knows, congrats on your GTS box BTW, I really quite jealous, I spoke to Neil, yes he certainly sounds like a good guy. He said he might be able to help me out.
As to the seats yes they do fit, tried them out at my local Porsche dealer,(mimimal mods, slight track difference) as to what will happen when the car is finished just depends on what money I'm offered for it. Look it is like this, nobody has a car in Oz as good as my S2 anyway, no that is not a big head but just the truth, you don't just give things like that away. If I put my seats in there I would need to get 30k AUD or 12k in pounds, just remember the repaint is worth 8kpounds. It also has an excellent engine new brakes, shocks and I will reco the auto. Seriously that car will go another 20 years. Then it actually might be worth something. You can spend a fortune on these cars, this car when finished will need nothing.
My car after 50k in parts alone has had nothing spent on it in three years, albeit it is not a daily driver and has only done 15,000kms, but you are always better off buying the best you can afford, fixing a bad car is always a very expensive experience.

Hi Greg,
great job, are you the metal wizard?
How do you fix a rear wing like that, can you buy the whole section?
And what kind of money is it?

HI Peter, sorry for the late response, I had another car that I bought as a wreck, so I took the quarter panel from that car. But new from Porsche the quarters cost $2500 AUD but there is no need to buy a new one if you can get an excellent second hand one. I treated the welds with a penetrating paint called Penetrol CIP "corrosion inhibiting primer", it acts like fishoil except you can paint it. It is a marine grade product and you can also paint over lightly rusted metal, it isolates the rust off the metal.
This will be a great car when finished, just doing the gearbox on it now, it was slow into reverse, it is a smart move to do the gearbox before it totally fails. Also there is new clutch material for reverse, and a self adjusting front piston. If you gearbox does have trouble, rebuild it before it fails as I saved the front pump and the valve body. That would have been another $2500 in parts just for those two items. Also I would only use genuine parts, don't risk it for a few bucks!

This is the off the gun finish, it was pretty good too, it flowed out nicely, it will have a nice factory peel after a light buff.
More photos to come, I really like this color, also the graphite wheel color really contrasts nicely with the Iris Blue.
Cheers Greg

Job Done!
O.K this job from hell is finally finished, I had to laugh when I read my earlier comments about it being finished in a couple of months, that was like a year ago, at least it feels that way. Here's a couple of shots of the interior now.
Even the engine bay came in for some treatment, replating a lot of parts, new bonnet insulation, struts and repaint around the engine bay.
I think the charcoal wheels like quite nice with the light blue.
The amount of work that went into this car is embarassing, it took over a year full time, comsumed about $20K AUD in new and used parts, now it is for sale as I will only be keeping one. It was interesting to drive the auto in a standard form when compared to mine as it is a real cruiser and comfortable, where mine takes work to drive and is more of a racer. This would make a great midweek car and bring the manual for the weekends.
Well that's all folks. I'm totally over the 928 now.

Wow Greg... that car is gorgeous! As for being totally over the 928... time will tell. Take it for a spin, see if it gets the ol' ticker pumping again!
