Default Measure twice...

Well, they're perfectly made, but have the wrong Z measurement.

Turns out I didn't double-check that the face offset in the CAD program included the material thickness. I gambled on not making the prototype, and came up snake eyes!

I'm having another set made with the proper dims. (I also changed the alignment features to take into account the width of the laser beam, and made a zero reference too.)

Can the duds be used on the older implementation?

I can chop off the arm and use them for 'big washers', so I didn't toss them out.

I'd have to sell a truckload of conversions to use them up, though.

I rationalizing it as a 'learning experience'...

No, to the former...

The arm is just a bit too close to the ring (-1.85MM), so it doesn't fit 'round the gear properly. (It's designed to fit tightly.)

I might have been able to bend it into submission, but then it would be more difficult to check the alignment, 'in the field'.

For a while we had some neighbors that ran on angel dust.

OK - gonna unstick this one now. I believe the group buy cut-off date was scheduled for 1/19.

Ken,

If you have any more sets available, put me down for a pair. If not, put me in line for the next batch.

Thanks!

Sorry Adam, I didn't make any extras on the 'fixit' batch.

I'll have to make a poll or something to get another run going.
