Total911 - New Porsche Magazine launches Spring 2005
Total911 Magazine - nothing else matters
Launches Spring 2005
Total911 Magazine is the culmination of a lifetime's passion for the Porsche 911. Ardent Rennlisters Rob Mugglestone, John Francas and Editor, Phil Raby, have created Total911 to provide the Porsche community with the magazine you have been waiting for.
As the title suggests, Total911 is 100% committed to the design icon that is the 911 - from the first to the latest - in as much detail as you can handle.
Total911 will feature photography to blow your mind - the photos we wish we could all take; if only we have the talent, the cars and the locations; above all though, we'll give them space to do them justice.
In-depth articles written by knowledgable, authoratative contributors. No more thin, shallow features about cars that 'corner on rails' or 'look fast standing still'; a readership focused on one model will expect, and be delighted by, articles which go beyond any other 911 feature you'll have read before.
Total911 will be truly 'borderless'. Cars and drivers from the US, Europe and the UK will all feature in the magazine, bringing the best 911's the world has to offer to our readership.
We hope you are as excited about the prospect of Total911 as we are. We are proud sponsors of Rennlist and thought you guys would appreciate hearing about this first.
We are offering a 10% discount to Rennlist members on early subscriptions. If you want to know more, go to www.total911.com .
We'll be adding some preview features to the website soon, some downloadable scrensavers of our best photos and more, so keep checking in now and again for updates.
Lastly, if you have any queries about advertising in Total911, fancy yourself as a contributor or have some fantastic photos you'd like us to feature, drop any of us an e-mail.
Oh, and Merry Xmas!!!
John, Phil and Rob.

Total911 huh? Does this world really need another VW Beetle Tuner mag?
I hear the first issue will be groundbreaking:
1. What is lift-throttle-oversteer and why Porsche realized it was a bad idea back in 1971 (or whenever the 928 design was realized)
2. How to handle "Nice VW" comments at cocktail parties.
3. Now available: "I don't have a small *****" magnet bumper stickers for your 911 - they are PCA approved for track events.
This post is a joke - no flames please - good luck on the new magazine.

Wrong forum for this! Although I'm sure some here have other models of Porsches' including 911's, when they want to read or chat 911's they go to those specific model forums. I'm happy for you and your magazine, but I seriously doubt that I'll have a subscription to it.
I subscribe to: 928 Forum Magazine.

Good luck with the venture it is a HUGE undertaking to start a magazine ....you can not get advertising without circulation, with out advertising you cannot get circulation (magazine looks odd) , with no history of creating a magazine it is hard to get subscriptions, with out subscriptions no advertising , without advertising money and subscription money it is hard to PAY for articles, if you rely on "volunteers" to write the articles it seldom happens. Every Oak tree started out as an acorn but it is very tough when you fall in the dark shadows of the mature oak trees.

NEWS FLASH....THIS JUST IN....."911 Nothing Else Matters"????? HOLY CRAP!!! I'm glad I don't own one of those. Can you imagin, since nothing else matters, how many jobs would be lost, marriages broken up, kids going hungry, homes lost, civilizations falling apart, not to mention the end of the world. After all, "Nothing Else Matters". Thank goodness for my 928 to keep my head on straight!

I'm kinda wonderin' myself why this is here.
I'll shoot 'em a PM.
Be nice - they are Rennlist Sponsors, even if they've decided to devote their magazine to one of the lesser Porsche breeds...

Guys
Its good to see you care so much about P-cars that you've responded so vehemently.
I knew it may have been a little controversial to post this announcement on the non-911 boards - you should see the reaction over on the 944 forum!! Luckily, I'm Australian & immune to friendly criticism!
Anyway, the post is just an announcment. Nothing more or less. In an ideal world, we'd all love magazines full of glossy pics, in exotic locations with articles by Walther Rohrl and Harm Lagaay on our own particular favourite Porsche - in your case the 928. But, as Jim Bailey so eloquently put it - launching a new mag is tough and unpopular commercial decisions have to be made.
I'm sorry we're not launching total928 - but I thought that this may be of interest to some of the 928 forum members who also may like reading about 911s. Apologies if I ruined you Xmas!!

911- it survived because for most image is absolutely everything.
928- it survived every effort to kill it because of superior build quality and design.
How about "totalPOSERmagazine"... nobody else matters.
just one 928 owners opinion.
