Andrew Olsen. I have painted my brakes RED with the lettering in raw Aluminum. I notice when I stop at a light one of the first things that the public's eye is drawn to, are my big REDS! The cup ones help as well. Your brakes can never be purdier than mine! What draws the publics attention more, Pee-Wee Herman with a tan or Scwartzeneggar!

Andrew...some of the pictures show only a part of the caliper painted. I painted every visible surface. The backsides are bare, but no one will, or could, ever see those sides. Here's what mine look like, although the picture distorts the shade of red somewhat:

Cosmoline, that's a blast from the past. But is it safe to use on Bakelite?

My mechanic used an Eastwood home powder coating kit to do his Audi calipers in black and they look great and will wipe clean with a dry cloth. You can't say the same for a lot of painted ones.

It's true for the stuff I used. Either a dry cloth or a spray from the hose washes the brake dust off pretty easily.

Yeah, some fluid ran out. The brake lines can come off with a small wrench. The Calipers are held on by either 17mm or 19mm bolts. Get a long handle rachet cuz they are on there. Once off, drive the pins out and all pretty much comes off from there.

A friend has one of those that will get quite a bit of use on my 928.

Why paint the caliper when you can go with some frilly lace, instead?
