Default Hissing noise in reverse

Whenever I put the car in reverse there is an apparent hissing noice. It is not loud and sounds like sssssssssssssssssssssssssss. It does not do it in any other gear and the trans operation is not effected at all.

Vacuum?
Where about's is the hiss coming from?
If it appears to be from dash to lower dash console area you might just have a leak in
the HVAC area that shows up at low rpm -low engine vacuum situation- when there is
a draw on the system, possibly because of the shift into reverse.

Cooling hose touching body only when trans/engine torqued to one side (mount{s})?

Also, there was a service bulliten about re-routing or replacing a hose for noise problems, but I don't recall for what year.

THe noise appears to be coming from under the car. Can hear it good from driver window. THe tranny mounts are vg as they were replaced this year. My engine MM are shot. I will not worry about the noise it is it do doing any harm.

The hose bulletin was for a 1983. IIRC
Any slipping symtoms or harsh shifting?

May sound like hissing ... I've had a bad auto tranny in another car where the car was put into reverse while being towed, and it from then on made a screetch/hiss sound. No idea what the problem was but it worked fine. Only hissed in reverse. Talk to the wife lately?
