What was the intent of the line orifice/constrictor? Anything to do with protection of the rack seals from pressure surges, etc.? - or just the average uber-engineering?

Thanks for your continued contributions to this thread one and all. I haven't had any time over this holiday weekend to fiddle with this issue on my S4...

Unfortunately, I'm selling my car because I am facing a period of financial instability in my work come the Spring of '05. I need to plan accordingly or I'll be in a world of hurt at home....that is the ONLY reason I'm trying to sell it. I'm not trying to profit on the car...just want the car to go to a good home.
Also, I'm not turning my back on the 9-2-8....will buy another one once things settle down in my career. Being 100% soft money stinks....

I wonder if good 'ol NAPA has a pressure line for the '89 S4? What kind of service has your $60 hose given you? Do you know what these OEM hoses cost through the Big Three? My guess is "not cheap"

Hey Randy (aka "JohnV") -
My apologies For some reason I was thinking "JohnD" when I typed that and ended up writing JohnV. I think I was thinking about JohnD because I just renewed my Rennlist membership. At anyrate, thanks for your thoughts and understanding of my senior moment...LOL!

Cheers,
Tim

Actually, I went with genuine P-hoses.... it was hupp who went to NAPA. IIRC, mine were $75 ea. at Devek. I'd have to go dig through my receipts... or you could call them in the morning.
