Add an oil cooler?
My car has a M28/14 engine with a auto gearbox.
I want to add an external oil cooler to try and get my engine temperature under control in traffic. (the temperature a touch on 50C in the summer here).
I've looked under the car and there are two blanking plug next to the oil filter and above the oil pressure sensor.
According to the pet I could just add two pipes and a cooler and I'd be all set.
Has anyone done this? Is the oil thermostat instaled in the housing which has the filter etc.. and is it already there? I plan to get a used external cooler from an S4, but where are they mounted?
Thanks in advance.

I've also considered installing the oil cooler.
On your US '80 engine, the oil thermostat housing is empty. You can either plug the housing with a drift plug and use an external thermostat, or get the factory thermostat pieces.
IIRC, you'll need the thermostat, and a couple of springs.

Yes, the thermostat is a big deal. Makes sure the oil doesn't get too cool, as its as bad as too hot.

Hmm, this is going to be more of a major project than I thought...
