CIS fuel injector questions...
1. How do I seperate the injectors from the spider legs?
2. Can they be cleaned, or do I have to get a bunch of them and find the ones with the most similar spray pattern?

Lever / Push ???
Unscrew the sleeve around the injector with a wrench or large deep socket. The injector rubber bushing and sleeve will come free of the spider leg. Then push the injector and bushing fee of the sleeve and then pull the injector from the bushing.

I tried using a wrench, but the part that is supposed to unscrew is embedded in the rest of the injector and it wont move?? I'll put up a pic tomorrow.

Airflite, you actually put the wrench on the injector, The injector projects part wat throught eh sleeve. When you turn the injector the sleeve will also turn. I had a fair bit of trouble getting the injectors/sleeves to turn initially. If a I remember rightlly, I removed the spider arm with the injector still in place, put the arm in a vise and was eventualy able to get the sleeves out.

I had to use a deep socket to cover part of the injector and a vice to squeeze the injector free from the rubber grommet. It took some work but they all came out.
In reality, for me it was best to just toss the old injectors and replace them along with the grommets.

Yes, Deep 12/13mm? socket gets over the injector hex, and usually a sharp smack on the socket arm will free the holder and injector from inlet tube. The old rubbers will hang on tightly, just lube them well and they will come out. Also will take some lube (vaseline) to put new ones on the injectors, and get the grommets into alloy holders. A GOOD Bosch shop will have the tools to hold the injector pintle open so they can be back flushed to clean crud out of the internal filter, and they should then check spray pattern and leak down.
