Default Injectors?

Does anyone have some fuel injectors laying around that I can borrow for my 87 S4 while I have mine rebuilt. I would like to avoid laying my car up for a week. I have no record of this being done and my car has 197k on it. I am expecting the car to run much better. Please let me know.

Joe,
If you haven't yet pulled your injectors and laid the car up - consider getting a set of the Bosch Design II 'D5B' units. These are the 4-hole disc type vs. the pintle single hole as installed. The 19# size are available for <$200 on ebay - and sometimes very much less. You would need a '928' size O-ring on the manifold side, and they are a direct plug in - and you don't have to lay the car up, or do the job twice.
I think the Design III types 'plug & play' as well - I have a set for this winters lay-away, but need to find the o-rings.

They are the older style: I'd skip that type and go for the 4-hole disc generation II type, like http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...932370212&rd=1. Read up on these Design II 19# at FiveOmotorsports and these guys. They sell new at ~ $200/8, recon w. warrenty at ~ $110/8 - and some really good private deals on a 'Ford, or Bosch Injector' ebay search. I think the all orange 19# Design III will also fit (both fit my BMW, and the II's fit the 928 - so logic says ....

The O-rings are likely a 'Big 3', or Dealer item: I had found a site for them, but lost the link. Perhaps someone has good advice where to locate the S4 injector O-rings .... ?? . I think the fuel rail end are standard size, and the manifold ends are one size larger - at 4.5mm stock diameter, formed into a ring of 8mm ID in Viton IIRC: If you find a source, please let me know.

I wish we could get inexpensive replacement injectors for the L-jet cars. I had to replace one when I first got my car and it cost me $75.00 for one!
