Ron, I have a patent pending on a' Panel Door Holder - Upper', but you are welcome to try it - and I will forgo the patent to 928 Intl - for consideration of the very small royalities it may generate
Stick a 9" length of 1/4" dowel in your glovebox (or tuck into the fuse panel) - it works perfectly to prop up that cover while you are standing on your head - trying to unravel the electrical mysteries of the universe ...

Garth,

That's great. Then I have my fix of more wood. I'll get stained mahogany. Genius! I get it.

Thanks,

Ron

The 930 wheel is by far the sweetest. I was thinking of the Nardi but then came across the wheel I have so I went with that one.

The wood floorboard I suspect is an excellent sound and electrical insulator. One could use dynamat with a fiberglass or CF sandwitch, but at what cost?

I too like the look of fine hardwood I just think it is out of place in a 928 far better as the stock of a nice long gun. And no I am not a "tree hugger" which should be no surprise to anyone.
I bet you like to stand/hide behind them when out with that long gun

On modern cars I don't like any steering wheels with metal spokes exposed. It's ia step back into the 70ies where safety wasn't very advanced. It is not uncommon in non-airbag cars that the head touches the steering wheel in a bad crash. Would you prefer the marks of metal spokes on your forehead, or the marks of a foam and leather covered wheel?

Here is another way of looking at it: If you hit something at 35mph, your car gets stopped by the impact, How fast does your body continue to move? The answer is: 35mph, until the safety belt holds you. Since there is no belt on your head, the head will swing forward, only slightly reducing its speed. It it hits the steering wheel's metal spokes at, say, 30mph, the word "painful" will have a new dimension for you.

Yet another way to look at this: Would you voluntarily jump from a 30 feet hight building? Why not? Is it because you'd hit the ground at about 35mph? Now, what if there was a steering wheel with metal spokes you could jump onto? Wouldn't that make it a lot more attractive to jump? Not.

Ron - Keep in mind that you will need an adapter for almost ANY non-928 wheel!

MOMO USED to make one - but IIRC, they stopped...928Spec had some a few months back, tho..I've seen other makes that were a piece of JUNQUE!...just something to keep in mind.

Nicole,

Okay, I understand... It's not how cool it looks, but, how functional it is in a crash? The 930s wheel does look quite good for looking good and padding my handsomeness. Stll thinking about my choices.

Thank You,

Ron

My personal choice would be the 930 wheel. I once test drove a car that had it, and it felt great! It also looks very much like it belongs to the car...

Well, if your belts grip and head hits the metal on the "momo" type wheels, i think you have bigger problems. Dale Earnhart comes to mind.

Another spin. Since the momo wheels are so much smaller, you actually have less of a chance contacting them.

I have a MOMO Fighter in my car, similar to Daves except the center horn piece isnt round...it adds a nice look to the wheel IMHO

Momo Horn Pad. Priceless.

Ernest (NYC)
Gotta love those Race Track paddock stores.
Didn't even know anyone stocked the Momo Horn pads.

I'm leaning towards a MOMO for the 944 - the models with the sqared-off bottoms would help with leg-room on the earlier interior models. I like the feel of the 3-spoke in the 944 - it's a little smaller and thicker than the one in my 911 - and may swap it. I believe the 911 wheel is 380mm while the 944 is 350mm - what's the spec on the 930S?
