I think you might be able to reorder one from Porsche. Have you asked your favorite Part supplier (hopefully one of our "Big Three")???

I'm not quite sure, if I understand his answer on this one. He said the number in '93 refers to the "R-program" - which is model year '94.

Does your car have any of the changes for the '94 model year, such as intensive washer delete, smog filter, no tire pressure sensors, the 94/95 wheel design, etc? That would be it.

These are the answers I have received so far. What a friend I have!!!

I hope that the 928 community website owners pick these up and add them to their option code listings.

Exclusive options used to be added after the production process and were not always registered in the option sticker. The canary yellow 928 S4 is an example for this...

Nicole, what about C06? Believe it's not listed anywhere on the web.

Also is C16 UK in general or C16 'UK LUX spec: tinted windows, metallic paint, and a few other goodies' like listed in:

http://www.kindel.com/Porsche/options.asp

Thanks.

Interesting if C036 and C36 both mean Canada. Would C036 be as 036 in option sticker like Mxxx options are without M? If so, it would appear like 036 meaning bumpers with impact absorbers according to that decoder.

Nicole,

My car has the xl4 option code (dark rootwood) and has the door panel inserts as well as the center console insert and ash tray cover in wood. You can see some pictures here.

http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/neegin...&.dnm=6f54.jpg

My VIN is: WP0ZZZ92ZMS801507

I truly appreciate any additional info that you can find. Porsche AG was the original owner of this car as it was a factory exec car for the first year of its life. I would love to know who drove it, since the PO told be that it was one of the Porsche family members, but I thought that he was probably BS'ing or that he had been BS'd.

Thanks again,

Cameron

Hi Nicole;

First off, Great work!! You are a blessing.

My GTS is actually one of the 92 cars; Vin # WP0AA2926PS815092

My car does have a factory installed hitch (w/ 928 part #) but no cutouts on the rear bumper for the receiver. I always assumed that either the 718 or the 10021 was for that.

What exactly is the "R-program"? I'm not familiar with that one.

Thumbs up

Nicole,

Kudos on a job well done. Here is the option code decal off of a 1990 black/black GT that I sold to a gentleman from L.A. about 4 years ago. He e-mailed me the option code decal recently to ask me what all the option codes were. This one stumped me:

639

What the heck is it? Please let me know, so I can pass it on.

I will wait a few days or a week until we have collected more questions, before I contact my friend on this again. I don't want to overstrech his goodwill. Keep the questions coming!

You are right in that your car is a 1992 car, also called "N-Program". 1993 would be "P-Program" - which is reflected in your VIN, as the car was built during the 1992 model year but declared as a 1993 model for the US market. "R-Program" is 1994 model year. Maybe the option code means "1993 model year in 1992"? I don't know... at least not, yet.

The model years are described nicely in Jörg Austen's Book "Porsche 928 - Die technische Dokumentation des Transaxle-Achtzylinders" - good stuff, even if you don't read German, since most of the technical data, drawings, and pictures are internationally digestable.... I still have a stack of those books here, and extend my earlier special offer of $48 including shipping inside the US and Canada until October 15.
