Default Front suspention . . Wow it's high!

I just had the new front shocks & springs replaced by my mechanic AKA "Grease all over your stuff". $200 and he put everything together & then on the car. The adjustments are down even with the threads. It's so high now I can go 4X4 with no problems. Clears parking curbs, no dip or bump too nasty for ole blue now. My question is, will it settle or do I have to adjust it down more. I'm concerned going off the threads on the adjusters won't be strong enough to support the pressure from the springs. I have a cheapo camera with no flash (blew all $ on 928's) so will post pictures tomorrow. Man . . It's up there! I think I got a nose bleed.

It's gonna sit high just from being lifted. She'll settle down SOME with a fair amount of driving (50-75 mi)....A few hard 60-0 stops will help....Did you replace the springs, too?

Ron,

Give it 20 to 50 miles to settle. The more bumpy or curvy the road the better. I was able to "help" mine along with several hard ABS engaging stops from a decent speed to get it down faster.

Hey Chuck . . The shop on the corner of Spring Creek & Alma. Community Garage (972) 517-0093 (AKA-Grease all over your stuff) That's what I call them and it fits. I grabbed my steering wheel last night to drive the Euro home and had a black stripe across my hand. Everytime, but they do such excellent work for an even better price I've learned to just bite my lip, smile & pay the man because the $ he charges for labor outweighs the fingerprints I have to clean up later.

After I replaced my shocks 2 weeks ago I was certain I'd screwed something up because the car was sitting so high. A few right-angle curves at 45 mph settled things down nicely.

Thanks Thad . . I have some errands to run this morning so i'm going to run Ole Blue through it's paces. Also after reading your threads on how replacing the shocks were, made my decision to send it out a NO brainer.

Matt . . It's too high to tell, but as far as the ride goes, it rides a lot better. Hopefully when it settles it will handle like it should.

Ron,

You should be able to get it 90% settled in a matter of minutes. Go somewhere quiet, away from traffic and drop anchor at about 40mph. I mean REALLY slam on the binders as hard as you can. Repeat once or twice and if it isn't running close to the correct ride height then something is wrong...

If your shop loosened the attach points for the lower control arms, they may have tightened them with the arm hanging down. If so, you need to loosen the bolts on the inner pivot points (without jacking the car!), bounce the car a few times, then retighten them.
