Take a WAG as to where Bosche purchased the antecedant to it's fuel injection system?
Couple of hints,
1. Not a chevy product .
2. Occured after 1958.
Don't move it John it relates to our sHARKs...Honest injun.

Bendix originated the "ElectroJet" system - with vacuum tubes in the trunk on the first models! First installation was in an American Motors Rebel, if I remember correctly.

You obviously mean Electronic fuel injection. Merc and BMW aero engines in WWII were injected mechanically, probably plunger types as in Porsche racing and 911 up to 70s..

JP,
Sharp as the proverbial tack.
Electronic, GM's fuel injection 57-58 was mechanical.
Wally,
Electrojector! Spelling according to the Bendix (Aviation Corp., Eclipse Machine Division, Elmira, NY.) data plates, but you were close enough.
The analog computer and resistor box was mounted in front of the radiator on ... what looks like shelf arms with what appears to be cork washers as isolators. This was on the 35, 1958 Chrylers. Five (5) DeSoto, Adventurer convertibles, sixteen (16) Chrysler 300's, twelve (12) Dodge D500's, and two (2) Plymouth Fury's.
You might be right about an experimental Rambler, but according to what I've read MoPar was the only carmaker to actually deploy the unit on their cars but only on the aforementioned 35 units.
VU,
Bendix is right , but I don't think Chrysler had a piece of them.
Allied Signal, or Honeywell eventually bought em' out, I still can't remember wether Allied Signal then bought Honeywell or vice-versa.
Old and New,
Missed it. Sorry.
FWIW
Mopar recalled the 35 and went back to carbs due to wax paper capacitor failures amongst other failures.
34 of the 35 showed. The article is in December 2004's Mopar Action magazine and you would freak at the story with flicks and great descriptions. Restoring a 928 would be childs' play compared to what this guy went thru... AND COST!.
I found the article after my son, Zack bet me 20 bucks and expences that there was a Hemicuda that went for 2 million . Whoda Thunk?
BTW
After the Chrysler disaster
Bendix couldn't find a carmaker to use the automotive injector system so they sold the rights to Bosche.
