Figured I'd revive this post...

I need to replace my mast. Have the same problem that Nicole had. I emailed the guy at Locustom.com....

<<I carry the factory replacement mast for the 928, it should be a M5 thread. When you get a chance double check your antenna, it is possible the S4 gets the M6 like the Audi Avant. If you have the M5 then all my antenna masts will work, the Shark Attack II mast is $15. If you have the M6 I can do nothing except offer you a complete replacement antenna.

Thank you,
Mike Lough

Does anybody know if the the S4 mast is M5 or M6 threaded? Just want to make sure before I order. I'm looking at getting the Shark Attack II.

Thanks,

I just wanted to update this thread in case anyone is doing a search regarding replacement masts. I ended up buying a mast from www.LoCustom.com. He has various ones that will replace the original. I went with a 12" smooth mast. It was $20 shipped. He also had the 16" (both in spiraled and smooth) along with an 8" one.

I need to update too. Sorry I missed Nicole asking how the shorty 2" mast worked out. The answer is lousy. Much worse reception. The shorty looked great, but I put the original mast back on.

Just for clarification of what happened in my case:

Abby sent me a mast that looks kind of like a screw, but it spun when I drove on the freeway... I'll be happy to pass it on to somebody who wants it.

Then I ordered a replacement from locustom that is similar but not exactly the same as the original antenna. You have to know what you're looking for in order to see the difference.

Unfortunately, locustom changed their website, and I can no longer find the masts.

I emailed them and they told me what masts they carry. The 12" one that I bought works well and looks good.
