To bad someone didn't get a pre-ebay shot at this one...if his reserve is already met then he would have sold it for $15K!!! Bummer

If you check out the Registry, he paid over $23k for it about 3 years ago, then added the RMB, Big Blacks, BW Motorsport rims, etc...

It should get bid up. 6 days to go, so it's surprising it met reserve already. Usually a sign of inexperienced bidders. The leading bidder has a lot of feedback but all from buying nick nacks.

Actually I only paid $21k for it The RMB was there, the 930S wheel as well. I added the B/E suspension, brakes and wheels.

I paid about 5k less than the top GTs at the time. The paint isn't perfect and the miles aren't all that low. I have a buyer at $18k, deposit on the way. As soon as I get the deposit it comes off of ebay. So I feel like I sold it for about 5k less than a perfect one as well.

The main reason I didn't list it here is that I have no desire to cart it around for a decent PPI, which 99% of the guys here would want. It is a 5-6 hour drive each way, it is still winter and I only have an open trailer, just didn't want to go there.

Brent;

Sorry to see it go so cheap. Somebody is getting a hellacious deal. Best of luck to you.

Well Brent I have an S4 that meets all my needs but I have to tell you, if I were interested in an '89 GT, I would very definitely buy from you with no PPI, very comfortably. I'm sorry to see you leave.

Brent:

So, why aren't you going to let the auction run its course? I predict based on the current bidding it should hit $20K or close to it. You can always use the offer you have a back-up should the eBay bidder be a flake or you can go to the second place bidder.

Unfortunately it is just one of those deals where I need to get cashed out as quickly as I can. I honestly didn't think it would sell so quickly, or that $18k would be considered such a deal. I can see that I have probably left a little on the table.

If the buyer backs out I will be keeping enough deposit money to re-list the car, so I am not really out anything there.

Circumstances dictate that I have a "fire sale" at my formerly profitable business and at home. Both Porsches and my prized ski boat get the axe, along with the motorhome and another downgrade in daily drivers. Thats just how it goes I guess, from fat and happy to lean and mean. Fortunately I have my health, I live in my absolute first choice of locations and I am young enough to make another run at it. So thanks for the well wishes
