Since it all is in fun.

Wally is the King, obviously. Check his record.

Queen would be his choice of females.

mpesik. your choice of avatars is vile.

Thanks for the nomination, Normy! <blush> It's especially nice to hear that you appreciate my English - I worked hard to get to that level. Our tests in high school were much more strict than the final English test California High School students had to take at the time... Nevertheless I make mistakes, and as I am more pressured for time I also find I make more typos... I always correct them when I catch them, though.

I don't think there is "one" King or Queen of 928 knowledge - it is the collective knowledge of many that makes us strong as a community. Wally, Mark Anderson, Jim Bailey, Marc and Susan Thomas, Dave Roberts, John Venninger, Mike Schmidt, Louis Ott, and others know lots of things I don't know - and I am sure I happen to know some stuff they have never focused on. If one person had all that knowledge, he or she could be King or Queen.

My focus is not so much on mechanical details and procedures. I'm more interested in the design, the features, and the overall history - the "what" and "why" questions. In that sense, I do have a lot of material to write a book about - just not now.

Right now we have the new German book by Jörg Austen, which was written by a true inssider. I hear there are 928 publications in the works by other authors as well (watch for future group buy opportunities). They will all end up in my archive, and some day, when I'm rich and famous and don't have to work for money anymore, then I'll write the "killer book". By then we'll all be retired and you'll have the time to actually read it front to back...

IMHO Wally P is THE single most knowledgable individual about the technical and wrenching aspects of the 928.

King of the Rennlist 928 forum or of the 928 kingdom?

If the later, how can Kim Crumb not be in the royalty?

I'm with Ernest on this one. WallyP would have to be the King of 928 knowledge. Mark Anderson would be the Crown Prince and heir to the throne?

This is a topic that has no good outcome and can leave a lot of bad feelings....besides it is quite sexist and makes some assumptions...and we all know what happens when you make assumptions....

I don't agee, Marc. I started this thread just for fun, thinking about how people on this forum seem to get along great despite how radically different they typically are. I think that nearly everyone on here is mature enough to not be upset whether or not they see their name.

Sexist? On Star Trek [admittedly, a TV show~] the officers are always refered to as "sir", regardless of their gender. In this usage, "king" has the same connotation.

B safe/ keep up the good work-

N!

Normy,

I'd think Dr Fuhrman or some others at Porsche would have to
fit that position. Tony Lapine would be a crown prince, etc.
The current Big Three might have established Dukedoms,
technical developers like Tim M or Louie O would be
wizards, and the racers would be the knights. There are also
other positions, but I leave that to others to discuss.

I prefer to think of it as more of a pantheon of 928 Gods & Goddesses. They all have their particular strengths, or collection of strengths.

We are all 928 Kings and Queens in our own right, prowling the streets in our sleek sharks. We sit upon our thrones, running our sceptres through their gears, master of the road. Makes me feel pampered like a king though.

Anyway... back to my throne room. I have to pop the lid on the treasure chest up front and rearrange the treasure a bit.
