Heidi is back from the Dyno
Here are the results. Pretty impressive numbers to say the least............
1st run below:
Last run below:
402 rwhp 383 rwtq
I left some hp on the table as my plugs were rather fouled by the time I got my head wrapped around all this. The boost is 10 psi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dude 10 psi, hell we banged 11psi on that last run!!
Still with 24# injectors and air fuel was perfect. just need clean plugs and I'm sure more hp is there.

Damm 402 RWHP from an 86 with an auto is very impressive!
Does anyone have Dyno numbers from stock or near stock S4's. I have an 88 S4 auto with a K&N & RMB. I was wondering what kind of numbers it should put up. I'm guessing around 260hp. I plan on going to a dyno next month.
Thanks

Awesome work shane and Andy, a winning combination for the S3!!!
Im only focusing on the S3 because that's what I've got, and I like to see real world numbers and results on it. Great job posting so quickly.

Shane,
Congratulations, I give you lots of credit for getting the job done nearly a 200CHP gain! For those that don’t know, Shane has an 86 auto with automatic transmission and Ott X-pipe. 288CHP stock x .80 + 20 rwhp for X-pipe = 250 rwhp. You went for it with what you had, figured out the three issues you had and resolved them with one actual innovation, and did no second guessing. This is exactly what I look for in a team member. It feels good to have a car with around 500CHP huh? Hopefully you’ll have some time today to get some acceleration figures. If you can get traction given your reported times you should hit 12.5-12.7 in the 1/4th and 0-60 of 4-4.5. I think the 0-60 will be tough to measure unless you have some pretty wide tires. With this HP on 245s, from a stop it will likely spin tires up to 80mph.
From my perspective the numbers raise questions though. I need some info.
What gear were you in?
What is the model of the Dyno?
What is your idle FP with vacuum hose off of the BEGI 2025?
Do you know the max FP?
What fuel octane?
Any oil coming out of that ultra simple breather setup?
The reported HP is where you should be with about 8 psi. I would have to say that you are actually at around 9. Take a look at the gauge when the car is turned off. IIRC that gauge reads a little north of 0 when it should be at 0. So subtract 1psi for that. It is common for a boost/vac gauge to be a little off and I would suspect a little higher boost because of the smaller ports and valves on the 85-86 cars. Then there some variables with cam timing and duration as well so it’s hard to say. It’s very hard to believe that it’s at 11 psi though. Some people will have a field day with those figures. They’ll need to remember that all works are automatically copyrighted on creation and can not be legally used without permission of the creator.
I am pleased to see that the stock injectors were able to support these figures. My guess is that the duty cycle in above 80%. I urge you to get them cleaned and balanced. If they prove reliable then SCing an 85-86 car just got cheaper.
Get some pictures up when you can. Any way to get some video at the track this weekend. And don't forget...100 octane at the track.
How's your liver? I'll think I'll need one one day and am willing to work a trade.
See my comments on that and I 'll add...You could pulley it for upwards of 15, just not very reliably. Unless...you ran 2 SC pulley's on the drive you would have 12 ribs. This could be acomplished with just a little machine work to 2 pulleys.
Thank's Heinrich and Warren.

Is there anyway i can sell a bodypart or something for a supercharger!
I didnt think you could pulley for 10-11psi??
Thank's Heinrich and Warren.

Tony: I didn't think you could pulley for 10-11 psi either. I have the 66mm pulley same as you but when he reved it up on the dyno sure as the world 10 psi. The first four dyno we were only making 4-7 psi cause the belt was slipping. It would hit 7psi up to 4500-4700 rpms and then start slipping back to 4 psi. We tightened the hell out of the blet and started getting 10 on a regular basis. The last run hit 11. With that kind of boost I should and most likely will be making more HP once I get some fresh plugs into this car.
Heinrich: You deserve some credit here to dude! Thanks for helping me figure some of this stuff out!!
Glenn, Warren, and Brian: Yeah guys this torque curve rocks!! You not only need this kit but start saving for big sticky tires.
Andy: Thanks for the support even though you were in the middle of moving to Atlanta and hurricane territory, you were there for me.
Tim: Thanks for helping too! You didn't have to step up and do that with Andy's kit, and I appreciate it. Will definately help me when I start installing yours on Helmet!

Shane,
Congrats'.
You HP ****!
I hope to have Pattycakes and her comparatively weak 4.5L breathing much better this spring/summer.
With 280 - 300HP I think I'll be able to stop crusing in second at 3500 - 4200 rpm while trolling for sHARk snacks.
Again, good work, just don't scatter that puppy.
