Having it illuminate when the door opens is a sweet idea! Looks cool!

It's quite functional. Nice work :-) I LOVE the price also. I'll do this in my auto but the huffed 5spd will remain boney :-)

Yeep, it only illuminates when the door is open and stays on with the interior lights. The wiring is straight forward, everything is pre-soldered and ready to be connected. The plus and minus cables that come out of the little black AC converter housing are the only thing that needs to be connected to a 12V DC source. I used the light below the glove box and connected the EL-strips directly with little blue clips to the cable. If anybody needs a picture of this please let me know.
Next are my steering tie rods and at the end of the month the motor mounts!

This can be done with the clear S4 sills too right?

Looks like the price has gone up a bit since your purchase. Clicking on the "Click here to BUY" in top right corner gets you to the order page. Needs PayPal for funds transfer.

It should be possible if you have the plastic door sills with the clear plastic letters/ numbers.

I measured the letters on my S4 sill and I believe they are too big for the strips that are on the site. Strips are 1.1" or something and letters were slightly bigger. Not sure if you could cut down the square piece they sell. 7"x7" if I recall right. Please correct me if I am wrong. I would love to do this.

You can cut them into any size. The only part that you cannot cut is the side where the contacts are soldered on to the sheet/strip. They can be cut into any shape, you just have to make sure that you seal the cut edges to prevent damge by moisture.

I was wondering about that. "Affen" is monkey. "Geil" is horny. Silly Germans and their strange sayings.
