I cleaned the sockets and replaced the parking/running (white) lights in front with new bulbs and my Tail lamp ! error has gone away. I can positively confirm that on a 1982 the front parking/running (white) front lights are on the bulb check circut. The problem before was that every time i would turn on the head lights my tail lamp ! error light would come on. I cleaned and replaced (ALL) bulbs from the front wheels back. No luck! I cleaned grounds and replaced the Lamp control unit. No Luck! it turned out to be the front parking lights all this time. For two years, this has been a thorn in my side.
