Lag that's an interesting idea regarding the rear windows. Shorting these while keeping the shape/ widening the "C" pillar could work. It could be done effectively on the cheap with clever use of paint too.

[Though the rear side windows "wrap" is one of my fav features!]

Gav- people like you should receive awards for the time and effort that you've put into your hobby, and for the fact that you've decided to share your efforts with others. More power to people like you!

-At the same time, I think the best 928 is the most original, and that modifications are best when they are subtle/ undectable. Our tastes in 928's differ.

Have you come up with any interior mods? I'd love to see Op-Art seats done in...leather.

I think it looks great. I would think that the front bumper / spoiler from the 996 twin turbo would give it a bit more aggressive look and distinguish it from the boxter.

You could use 993 lights? Either way, you will build a much larger customer base if you work on that front end. The rear, from what you have shown, looks great. The front, however, looks terribly out of proportion. I have to commend you for tackling such an amazing task though... nice work!

I love the rear quarter area. IMHO this is the 'ugly' part of the 928.

Need to keep the flip up lights though. That's the trademark and the thing that sets it apart from all other cars. I'd be up for a modified front spoiler section though.

Regarding the rear wing. I think it looks unique WITHOUT a wing. It really shows off the rear end of the car w/o the wing. Don't go overboard with the wing, looks too ricey.

The thing is that some may like it, some may hate it, but the clear message I think we want to convey, is that we DO appreciate the efforts, and we DO want to contribute our suggestions. Which means that if the things we want are addressed, and changes are made, and a really slick design is eventually released, then we WILL buy it, and be very happy to have an upgrade to our cars. But if it is not to our liking, then we will not buy it. At least not yet... But I would guess that many people with the older cars would be pretty happy to get an upgrade to the styling. But only if it does not ruin the lines of the 928... So far, the rear looks pretty cool. So other than some possible changes to the front, I think the project is a very good thing, and moving in the right direction...

Those lights do look better but everything needs to come together more tightly in the front. Try squeezing the front in and down a little with the same lamps.

If you don't want it, just leave it alone.

Maybe that is the best answer to the issue of the front of the car.
Have a version of the kit, that retains the stock headlights, but upgrades the front bumper, spoiler, and driving lights.

The front is really bizzare looking (sorry), and the rear looks like it needs a wing. I think it's hard to beat the original.

People wanting to update the looks of their car usually do this because they spent too much time looking at it

Your best bet at jawdropping spectators is to make your car look like it just came out of the showroom.

Took out the Jörg Austen book and tried my hand at Photoshop again (been a while)

Would you "update" an Aston Martin ?

I agree. The car was designed without much (if any) borrowing from other cars' styling. Adding styling cues from a Boxster or 996 is undoing the effort made to make this such a unique car. I love the styling of the 996 and 986, except for the damn fried-egg headlights, so If you are committed to borrowing that would be the last look I'd choose. Just MHO.

Nice effort, & I like what you've done to the rear end, but the bulging front fenders to me are reminiscent of a previous gen (HACK!!!) Hyundai Tiburon (how ironic). The 996 headlights just don't work for me. It is hard to mistake the front end of a 928 for any other car, and that front end makes it look Boxter/996ish.

I think the idea, or concept, is that the 928 has not been updated since the 90's.
So newer cars have newer looking headlights.
Newer cars have newer looking taillights.
The idea is to upgrade the looks of the 928,
so that it looks NEW.
Not to retain the "classic" styling of the car.
So both the front, and the rear, make this car look NEW.
I agree that it succeeds in that area.
But is it more stylish than the original design?
Maybe in the back, but not in the front...
The 911 series has slowly smoothed out, and slowly flattened, over the years.
But the 928 started out flat in the front.
So this is going in reverse.
If we want to improve the styling, the flatness of the hood and fenders needs to remain,
but upgrade the lights, the bumper, etc, etc...
