Default Digital instrument cluster odometer adjustment

Hi all.
I am repairing a 928 digital instrument cluster, and I would like to convert it from kilometer to miles. This is the European version without possibility to change between km/miles with the stalk.
In such a conversion, I need to adjust the odometer to show the correct mileage in miles.
Are there anyone with in-depth knowledge in how the mileage is coded/stored in the 9346 EEPROM in these instrument clusters? If so, could you please send a PM to me.
Thanks, and cheers from Oslo,
Tore

Sorry don’t have any technical knowledge but I have never seen a cluster that has dual mile/km on the speedometer not being able to be switched from miles to km or vice a versa.

Bilal928S4, thanks. As far as I know have the US versions the possibility to change between miles and kilometer by quickly pressing the stalk forward two times.
This is also how the US version I have here works.
Here are some more details: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...-gt-gts-2.html
The guy named borland seem to have found how to generate the necessary data, but his latest visit here was 14 years ago :-)
Maybe someone here downloaded the spreadsheet that he presented back then.
Cheers,
Tore

Tore,

What version of the cluster do you have? By that I mean what is your part number?

For expert support, Theo Jenniskens is the go to for EEPROM reprogramming.

khalloudy, thanks. I have already sent an email to Mr. Jenniskens, and hope he will be able to reply.
The instrument has part number 928 641 163 02, with software version K26.
Cheers,
Tore

I really like your bench test assembly. I would love to see some more pictures of that in action.

Report back if you figure out a solution. I've got a Canadian spec 89GT and it also does not allow the toggle between US and metric. Would be nice to have that. Also, my speedometer only shows km/h, no mph

The most flexible software version were K25. After that from K26-K29 had more limited functions compared to 25 which allowed full diagnostics and changes. I will try to read up a little and get back to you on what is/not possible and I have a stash of WSM/Annexes on the display manipulation (which some are not quite straight forward). I am running a new Euro spec K29 on my 87 with all the updated harnesses to 89.
