Weissach Edition #127 of 205
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...e=STRK:MEWA:IT
The eBay listing states that around 100 of the original Weissachs are still "on the road". I wonder where the seller sourced that info? Too bad this rare Shark is so beat / tired....looks like it is on the edge of being "selected against"...![crying](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/bigcry.gif)
Edit:
For the record, believe THIS is the car that one of our fellow Rennlisters sh944 inspected. It is NOT Jessa's W.E., which also is for sale....see below for info and links to pictures of her car.
Sorry for any confusion,
Tim

Was the Weissach Edition a benefactor of any of the performance improvements that the US-spec 1983 928S received? I know it received some of the cosmetic stuff but what about the important stuff? TIA, Tim

Mmmmmmmmm.....leather dash. I think finding any '82 928 that hasn't been fried in the sun is extremely rare. I don't think people were aware of how delicate the 928 interiors are until it was too late and many of them were bad already.

Here's some more info on another Weissach Edition that I've located for sale. This one belongs to a fellow Rennlister, Jessa. We just exchanged emails. The car is in San Rafael, CA.
The car does not have its Weissach dash plaque displaying its number of the 205 produced. I forgot to ask Jessa what # this one is. She has confirmed with Porsche that it does have the correct option code for Weissach Edition. She also stated, based on what she has gathered by talking with other Weissach Edition owners, the VINs are NOT in one block, as only a few special edition cars were produced on each day.
Many more pictures are available here -

I have a 1982 928 that has two-tone black and red leather interior, which seems to make it more unique than some others of that year, but how do I determine if my car is the "Weissach Edition"? Everything about it looks identical to the picture in the post above...

Hurray!
If that's an 8 out of 10 then my cars must be 9s at least. And here I was thinking that they were showing their age. And the cars a pick-a-part are about 6.

inquizito,
With that interior color scheme (red and black), I seriously doubt your car is a "Weissach Edition" but check with Porsche NA to be sure or perhaps with the seller of #127 above. What color is your exterior? Same as the W.E. cars? Wish I could help more...
Best,
Tim

Nicole's the expert here, but Weissach editions were only gold champagne metallic exterior paint, and two tone tan and brown all leather interior with all options. The only variable was auto or 5-speed. There were so many other combinations of options and colors and leather.
I keep thinking I'm going to meet a girl who's a vegetarian and she will freak out in the Weissach surrounded by all the leather while she screams "Murderer!!!" at me.

I drove out and looked that car over tonight. In my opinion, its a goner. The car is sitting on a used car lot, they've had it for a couple of months and have no history on it. The pictures are very misleading, there are some fairly big rust spots around the rear windows, and pretty much every panel of the car has scuffs and scratches on it. Its missing trim pieces like the drivers side driving light/turnsignal surround, has fresh oil spots on the pavement under the car and massive gunk/filth/yuck on the underside of the car. The interior is okay, but its not what I could consider "nice". Open the glovebox and the first think you see after you move some misc trim pieces that had put in there instead of refitted is a very nice collection of spare fuses, evidently a PO learned the value of carrying a BUNCH of spares. Anybody want me to go on about what I saw? Its very sad... I'm guessing its a $2000 car, tops.

Also, its kind of interesting how it grew a Weissach badge on the dash recently, since the previous pictures didn't have it. The car also has front seat covers added to it that were pretty nicely done, but won't fool any judges at a concours.
