Default Seized belt

Recently bought a 86 928 first one I’ve had running in years. Bought it out of state and had to trailer it most of the way back after encountering an issue with one of the pulleys being seized. Unfortunately maybe it’s just be being tired but I can’t find a belt diagram anywhere so all I know is it’s the belt that goes to the fan that has locked up. Does anyone have a belt diagram? I want to just get it off so I can figure out which one froze up (pretty sure it’s the fan clutch) but the only ones I can find are of the timing belt

I think it's more likely to be the air pump seizing. Fan clutches fail to lock up, they don't fail by locking up. Here's the fan diagram:

I ran my '82 for several weeks without a fan belt. Just had to keep it moving on the highway. No extended in town permissible.

If the smog pump has seized ,you can bypass it
you can get either a 20 or 21 inch belt ,
and connect it to the crank and the fan.
NOTE remove one top bolt and the lower bolt from the fan support bracket
slip the belt on , use a crescent wrench to hold the support then put the bolts into the fan support.

NOTE loosen the one bolt your not going to remove by 1 turn,
this will let the fan support pivot and thus release the tension on the belt and allow you to install a new belt

attempting to do that right now. I wish they had made belt removal slightly easier. Absolutely no room behind the fan to get out bolts

A 13 mm gear wrench is the weapon of choice for the three fan support bolts.

ok excellent and do you need to take off the whole fan to get the belt off or just two of the bolts like mentioned above?

Loosen all three, and then remove the upper left (driver's side) and the center lower bolts, and the fan support will tilt towards the passenger side. You then should be able to get the belt off (and then on).

Measure the fan pulley diameter and get the correct fan belt. The belts used for this, are originally used for the rotating knives of a tractor style lawn mower.
Dia. Belt length
76 mm (2.9'') = 508 mm (20'')

101 mm (3.9'')= 533 mm (21'')
Or give Roger a call.

excellent yeah cause I think I’m just going to bypass smog pump. That right side bolt on the fan is the most pita I’ve seen in a while

try the home depot these are lawnmower belts,
or look on Amazon
Yes Amazon has them order both,
then return the one you dont need,
then order the one that fit and toss it in the tool tray.
