All the data you want is stamped on the back side of the wheels . #1 is 7x16, ET=65mm : '82 - '86 928S cars had 4 of these.
The S4 added to the rear only two 8x16 ET=52.3mm: these are the wheels in #2, and will take a 245/45R16 compared to the 225/50R16 fitted to the 7x16.

Pre S4 had 16x7", 65mm offset front and rear. S4s run 65mm front offset, 52.3mm rear offset. Think the fronts are still 7" wide, rears are 8". WRONG OFFSET SCREWS UP TRACKING BADLY!

hwystar, Pic #2 is "rear" S4 wheel. They were not originally on the front. Are they all the way around? If they are post pics and is there proper clearance in the front?

hwystar:

Go to the Australian shark site, wheels section, and read this pdf:

http://www.landsharkoz.com/tt/ttwheels2.htm

It will tell you almost everything you need to know about 928 wheels.

Those wheels are very nice. They must really catch the eye at a 3/4 rear view when your driving slowly. Mike.
