And when they say only 205 made do not believe them as one of mine is number 210 and I know a customer with 219.
Like they said only 59 1989 GT's came to the USA.

More like 100, 29 to California and 71 to other states. 15 to Canada.

There are 202 Weissach's VIN's in PET, 73 manual and 129 automatics. All US cars so none went to Canada it seems.

Do we have a rough estimate as to how many are left?

The true significance of the Weissach edition is that it allowed Porsche to mark up the base of the 928 price to new stratospheric levels. NTTAWWT

no. Just look into the interior. 2 tone brown leather with that rich real leather smell likely equals weissach with or without the numbered shield. Any other leather interior equals plain old slow mid-year 928 with nothing particularly special, except if it has competition package.

Hoi

Thank you both. I'm looking at a gold '82. I can't tell from the two shoddy exterior photos what color the interior is. I'll have to get some more information.

That hellbronze in Iowa? Looks like a dark (black or dark brown interior). I am searching for another weissach too! Let me know! -Hoi

It was a Hellbronze in Milwaukee with a Cream and Brown interior. It is not a Weissah, however, it was a very interestingly optioned plain old 928. It is sunroof/rub strip delete, full leather with comp. package, limited slip and a 5 speed. I'll start a new thread with photos when I have time but it was socked away 20 years ago for investment purposes by a mechanic. It has been serviced since but hasn't been run for 5 years. It was dropped off with my mechanic this morning. Updates to come.

I don't have many photos of the one I owned, but here it is back in 1999.
Sure wish I hadn't sold it. I had a lot of great memories in that car.
