Default Troubleshooting ‘79 Vacuum Locks

Smidge of a backstory…before I took Goldie in for the interior restoration, I found this cool little feature. So, they were working before taking it up. Now they are not. It really isn’t a huge deal that they don’t work but if I can easily remedy the situation, that would be cool too. I’ve tried to research this some and haven’t come up with much. The HVAC works as it should, so I suspect the vacuum system is okay. Is it possible that the something has been tightened too much? If so, any ideas how to narrow the culprit down? I don’t really want to start disassembling the door panels or center console for this minor issue but, again, it would be nice to get them working. Any ideas?

I replace all the locks in my 928s with remote power door lock and hatch pop system. I think I have all the vacuum tubing from my 79 in a baggie, unless ive already give it to another 928 owner, if you think maybe one of your lines is compromised and why they may not work.

pretty simple system... you can test the system with a hand vacuum pump at the hose connections . the vacuum solenoid in the passenger door actuates a lever, so if anything in the lock/latch is out of adjustment or jammed they won't work. if the vacuum supply is intact you're taking door panels off.

usually the door lock **** gets over tightened this causes a bind
OR the door lock surround gets over tightened. in either case loosen each by a turn or so.
Also check the vacuum supply to the door locks under the drivers side dash maybe the check valve came loose
