Wires in firewall drain?
The previous owner pulled the computer from the passenger side compartment as he said it had a leak. Inspecting the carpet, it was indeed wet underneath. I was checking the drain in the firewall first to see if it may be clogged, but I found a blue wire and what appears to be a single connector on a wire that's not connected to anything. I plan on pulling the blower and glove box once it's back on the ground for a closer look, but was wondering if anybody knew off the top of their head.

no wires should be coming out of the firewall drain flap follow the wire on the inside.
you may need to replace the blower box seal use 3M strip caulk

That's not a wire. It's the blue hose that goes to the recirculation valve above the CE panel. You're going to have to remove the blower and the CE panel to reattach it and replace that valve.
You'll also need 3M strip caulk to do it as stated above. It's one of those do every 25+ year jobs that we all sort of dread.
It gets messy so I recommend laying the CE panel flat and putting a beach towel you don't care about on top of it to catch all the leaves and detritus that will fall through the firewall.

This is the blower box? I had to remove the CE panel in order to get the back bolts off. I presume it's just glued on with that strip calk so I'd need to use a plastic scraper or something to remove it? Just not wanting to break anything.

^^ That is the recirculation housing. The blower mounts directly to the top of it.
Remove all the blower screws, boot, and harness to get it out then push the housing down through that hole from the top with even pressure.
The only thing holding it in is the old butyl sealant. You can scrape it all off once it is out of the car.

NOTE you must also remove the both CE panel supports, mark their locations prior to removal.
then remove the ground wire bolts,
fold the CE panel face down and cover it with a towel,
NOTE so any debris that falls from the blower well wont get into the back of the panel.
Make sure you have removed all 3 of the bolts that hold the blower motor to the blower box,
one of these bolts is removed from inside the cabin, its a long 3 inch bolt..
Also disconnect the blue vacuum line from the rubber connection near the freeze switch.
NOTE once the blower box is pushed down and out,
then you can drop the blower motor out of the the same hole.

Well, it's a little late to mark the support locations. Those were out before I even took the picture. I'll pick it up again next weekend. Thanks everybody for all the help.

Got to work on the shark for a few hours today. Might be able to start it up in the next couple of week. I pulled the circulation housing and the blower motor out. The blue vacuum line was connected, so I know where that goes, but I'm still at a loss where the single connector goes.
Somebody has been in here before me. There was a bunch of the caulk bulged up over a hole on the side. I'm not sure if that's factory. Is there something that's supposed to go in this hole, or should I just be sealing it up as before? I'd think some gorilla tape would do better than a big glob of that tar tape since it was easily removed.

Single connector attaches to the small light mounted on the hood.
The wire leading to it goes from the light down through the same plug that the windshield washer tubes connect to. It then connects to that one connector.
You can connect it or not. It only gets power when the marker lights or headlights are turned on.

Thanks TFO. I think the hood has been replaced on this car. There's no light or anything on it. Mystery solved. Anybody know about the hole in the circulation housing? If it's not used, I'll just put some gorilla tape on it and move on.

That appears to be a factory hole. I have one in exactly the same place on my spare recirculation box sitting on the floor next to me.. It is covered by a piece of cloth tape. So just cover it and you're done.
