Default Help please - water pump cores

Due to the number of water pumps we have been selling we are having a hard time coming up with enough core pumps to rebuild as we wait for people to return their old ones . . IF you have your old pump we really need them , especially if your rebuilt pump is one of ours . We need the core to rebuild for the next 928 Owner who needs one plus you paid a deposit . So those old pumps may be able to keep a fellow 928 owner driving . If you have "extra" core pumps we would consider taking them in for credit against future parts purchases ( call me ). Our price for a rebuilt will remain $119 but we will be increasing the core deposit in the hope that people will return the cores in a more timely manner . Thanks .....

Jim... may I send you a 924 pump
for half credit?

(I'll keep my eyes open for 'cores'.)

G'luck.

Thanks to those who have already responded privately , it all helps . We are just trying to avoid running out of pumps and people having their car down . Mark has agreed to issue $75 of store credit to buy core pumps , so help us recycle those old pumps . Thanks Again . We much prefer our rebuilt pumps over the new ones and always recommend our rebuilt pumps but need more cores to keep that going .

$75 when I paid $100 core charge IIRC...or was it $75? better look up the invoice when I get home. And wait until the US$ is higher again. And wait until I can deliver it in person....or get a spare pump for next time..

My core was tossed because the tensioner boss snapped getting the bolt out. What's your policy in such cases? Do you give credit for the pieces, or is it unrcoverable?

JPitman you are correct anyone who returns a pump for which they paid a core deposit will get that deposit returned in full either on their credit card or a check issued . That was normally a $100 of deposit . The $75 store credit is for OTHER used pumps ...extra ones which it a number of people seem to have . Randy thanks for Topping this post several people are sending in old pumps and building up store credit . The pump does need to be rebuildable , the broken idler roller nipple makes the core only useful for parts and has little value . Again thanks to all who can help out .

Jim, Ok, clear on the return policy. All I need is to wangle a trip out of work. Maybe I need to visit warehouse at Tustin sometime soon....

Would you have any use for any 944 cores? For that matter, would you have any interest in starting to rebuild 944 water pumps, as there are no decent suplliers of rebuilt ones for 944's...

Regards,

Hey Jim, there's some 928s in the wrecking yards down here in Otay. I can look for you if you like. I'm not sure if you guys would like to purchase pumps as far as the South Bay of San Diego. Lemme know.
