Wow, looks like he's already got a replacement! I wonder who he's insured with?

Well she doesn't quite run right but the seller promised me that was just a touch of carbon on the valves. Said all she needed was to be opened-up a bit. I love that "Milano Rust" interior ... seller showed me the window sticker .... who knew Lambos were made in Swaziland? Anyway, that interior is a $50,000 option!!

If I hadn't just bought another running 928 I would have jumped at this chance for a low mileage car.

the problem with such a sale is now someone has paperwork for such a car and should they find a source for a "spare car" with no title / paperwork a little number tampering and it becomes easy to export the "rebuilt car" . Which used to happen with a lot of Porsche cars several years ago . Many insurance companies now declare such cars to be nonrecoverable junk only and title may only change hands once . Just to avoid those miraculous "rebuilds " .

I guess that helps explains why some people are willing to pay $5k
for a shell.

Jim, true. You can get a lot of 928 for that money :-) I saw a 356 on the bay one time .... all it was, was the rusted-out firewall and ... a VIN tag.

The local auto theft task force was know to have attended Insurance salvage auctions watched the bidding and then followed the wreck to it's new owner .......in many cases the donor ( Honda ) was already there waiting . Unfortunately the task force did not do that nearly often enough .

It's a good thing the door is rusted open in the "Lamborghini" position so everyone knows it's not just any normal pile of rusty car parts sitting in his front yard.

At least the ad didn't say "easy fix" anywhere in it...

Jeesuus;

You think the guy has enough jack to buy a Lambho, he would at least buy some freakin' grass seed for his lawn.

I also like the description of Interior: black Exterior: black You don't say.
