Oh, I don't... I KNOW the guy must have been roaring drunk, probably still is.

P.S. This hijacked thread will now be returned to the normally scheduled programming... Sorry Normy.

I would measure the bulb resistance by itself, and then in the socket....I bet there is a poor contact there somewhere lifting the current to the point the bulb cant handle. Is the 13+v you are measuring with the engine running, or off? No signs of overcharging anywhere?

.... I thought that an incandescent bulb was a 'current limiting' device with the filament output ( & life) designed for a particular voltage: the smallest 1.2W 12vdash light can be strung directly across the 12v battery terminals and last 'forever'. A 6v bulb will last seconds ....

As a fluent pidgin-Duetsch schpreker, having spent two fondly remembered years of my youth in the Army, I have to tell you Dave that your conjugation sucks...

Anyway, my Euro car has been , uhh, I use the term lightly, Federalized. Someone wired in some nominal rear side marker lights from a Toyota and when I bought the car some lights worked, others not. I don't remember all what was ge****ed, because we blitzed the whole works in one day to get all the lights working right.

The point is... If your car has added lights for US regs, you may check those connections.

That's OK... it's kind of like talking to your dog... it's all about your tone of voice. My shark seems to find it somewhat reassuring if what I'm saying sounds even vaguely Teutonic.

Hey Normy, did you try putting one of your zoned bulbs in the other side?
