Lightbulb something different-adding black vinyl 930 stone guards

Hello. I would like to know your opinions on adding black 930 stone guards to my s4. Perhaps some of you computer genius's could electronically fabricate a picture .Preferably a grey s4 with cup 1 wheels. After all it does look somewhat like a shark fin. Mike. Thank-you.

The only thing I can say about this idea is that the shape of the 930 guards might be a bit awkward on a 928. The 930/911 cars look good with big shapes, but a 928 needs something more subtle. I'd try to work something up for you, but I'm so weak with the Photoshop 7.0 that I have on my laptop that it just wouldn't work!

-A crescent shaped black sticker that follows the leading edge of the rear wheel, and flows at its bottom along the top of the rocker panel extensions that the S4 cars have might work. Just be "gentle" with it and after you do it....post a few pix!

Good idea-

N!

Maybe that beautiful German lady (or is it a drag queen?) in your avatar can make a tasteful recommendation...

I doubt, however, that she will still accept D-Marks, as they are completely worthless now. You'd have to entice her with Euros.

I hear that RED_UFO (Tom?) out in AZ is pretty handy with CAD and photoshop....drop him a PM. I agree with Normy re: the 928 needing something more subtle than the black 930 stone guards. You might be better off getting that new clear 3M stuff installed. I'm so sick of rock chips on the nose of my shark that I'm considering having the leading edge of the hood and the front bumper cover done in that stuff...

Best,
Tim

Mike,

Find a nice side shot of the car. Print out several copies. Color it in the way you want it to look. See if you like the look. Play with shots from other angles. Have somebody cut the 3M material to match.

(that'd be my plan, since I've never had the time to learn Photoshop worth a damn...)

Mike...

I remember seeing a picture of a silver/gold S4 on Phil Tong's site where the owned added the stone guards. From the photo, I remembered thinking that it didn't look bad...it actually looked like a large cooling vent.

I couldn't find the pic...maybe someone has it saved on their computer.

Hello Miss. Nicole. My Avatar represents the very late 19th. century maffersdorf -Bohemia-When A teenage Ferdinand Porsche installed an electrical generating system in his parents house. This pictures shows his mothers deep concern for his sons longing to move to Vienna. After realizing he was determined to leave and being poor ,his mother tried as a last resort to show young Ferdinand that he could be successful by offering advice on manufacturing electrical vehicles. This picture was taken right at the moment Ferdinand said.........Nein...... B.T.W Now for something completely different. That transvestite is John Cleese. Mike.

That's exactly what I was planning on doing to my GT prior to SITM!!!!! Didn't have time to order them. I was planning on using the 930 vinyl/magnetic backed kind, so they would be easy to remove for cleaning, etc...... I figured that the material is thin and easy to cut, if it needed to be modified for the 928's rear wheel arch curvature. I like the pics Dave. That looks pretty clean to me.

Chris,
Nice idea re: the magnetic variety stone guards. I think they'd look particularly nice on the GTS with its flared rear fender panels. If you end up making them...consider getting DR and JR (928gt.com) to stock 'em for the rest of us Alternatively, please post your source for the parts and document your technique for measuring and cutting them to fit the 928GT/S4 body....my guess is that GTS application would be a bit different?
Cheers,
Tim
